Feeling betrayed by Capricorn

My favorite sign is Capricorn. I love so many things about them, and when I found out my "friend" at work was a cappy I was beyond happy because I don't come across many. The other day at work, my boss told me he is considering me or her for a higher position in the company... I secretly confided in her and it was a huge mistake. I told her how I felt uncomfortable with some things in management and that I might refuse the position because of conflict with my other boss. She "acted" empathetic and couldn't hide her smile at all when I told her the problem after she had begged me to tell her what was wrong. I don't open up to people like that. Now I feel like she's using what I told her against me, just to climb to the top. I feel so dumb for trusting her... I know stuff like this happens everywhere but I'm just disappointed and a bit angry to know that she would do that type of stuff. Sorry rant over.

Why do you feel she is using the info against you? What has she done?

About a year and a half in two weeks

@inana she usually talks about everyone behind their backs. Since I'm always nice to her and we've been friends forever I thought I was an exception... But she started acting strange towards me before I left that day... She stayed after to "talk" with my supervisor/manager.

An unfortunate thing about Caps is that sometimes they tend to put their career above their friends & family....UNLESS they know you REALLY, REALLY well or if you have helped them out of a rough spot previously. Then their loyalty knows no bounds.

It may have been "wrong" from your point of view to confess to her about your discomfort about the higher position. But from HER point of view, it may be exactly what she wants and has been gunning for since she joined.

As for her staying back to "talk" to your supervisor, it may be that she wasn't dissing you but merely telling him that she herself is ready for the position. It IS possible to advertize oneself without putting down a colleague, y'know. Maybe that's what she was doing.

Simple logic from her point of view:
YOU: You had a heart-to-heart with her about your discomfort with some things in management and that you might refuse the position because of conflict with my other boss. Keywords: MIGHT REFUSE THE POSITION.

HER INTERPRETATION of what you said: It means you don't really want that post but she does. Or that you are undecided about what you want but she is not.

Naturally, she put her best Capricorn hoof forward and upped her game to the supervisor. But that doesn't mean she did it at your expense. She may not have mentioned you at all but allowed the supervisor to make up his own mind about who to choose.

Like I said, it is possible to highlight one's plus points & strengths to upper management for a higher position, without putting someone else down.

She may have seemed weird that day because she was processing the information, letting it sink in.

Chalk it up to a lesson to never, ever express your insecurities to anyone at work.

So far I see no proof of any wrong doing on her part. Feisty i think that you probably deep down dont really trust her and you are now a bit paranoid about what you told her thinking shes the type to betray you.

But theres no proof that her conversation with the supervisor or her attitude has anything to do with you at all. If she was to throw you under the bus I dont think her meeting with the supervisor would be known to you.

Just act normal, and think normal until you know for sure that she did you dirty.

Sadly, everybody talks on everybody's back nowadays ! Choose your friends well next time
