Okay. Out with a fellow cap. Watched her heart get broke. She put up a front. Brave. Stoic. Cool. All the razzmatazz that comes with cap. I looked in her eyes, saw the need, reached out, stroked her hand in a friendship guesture. Saw her lip quiver. IMMEDIATELY cracked a joke. Distracted the few around us. Saw the look of appreciation in her eyes. Felt the gratitude. Done. Bonded. Talked privately. Feel the pain.
Just curious. How many of us have seen the same thought process flicker across the face of a fellow sign? And know EXACTLY what needed to be done - i.e. soothe, distract.....etc.

I kept her from crying in public. She soooo appreciated that.

Aw man, when a person reads me like that they instantly mean the world to me. I bet you have no idea how much she really appreciates you for that moment.
I can tell things with people, but unlike you I never really know what to do. I just try to change the subject or be a distraction

I wouldn't have known what to do for another sign, I don't think. I just knew she would be humiliated to have cried in public.
