I don't know who all these are from but some of my favs I collected.

Failure is only a fact when you give up. Everyone gets knocked down, the question is: Will you get back up?

Risk a change, overcome fear and win.

Confidence is feeling satisfied with who and what we are.

When you stop trying to change others and work on changing yourself, your world changes for the better.

The best things in life don't come easy....

And my new fav...

At any given moment you have the power to say this is not how the story is going to end.

Not really a quote, but my motto is:

Cowgirl up, or go sit in the truck!!

That's close enough for me 🙂

Keeping my beer cold——

Icy cold!!!

Good, because on the other thread Tate has me in the mood to shoot some hogs... so as soon as you have a wild pig problem on your property and are in a BBQing mood, you just let me know. :p Keep the beer cold and the rest hot!

The great tragedy of life is not that man dies, but what dies inside him while he lives. ~ I've seen this one attributed to various people.

What you do speaks so loudly that I cannot hear what you say. ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

Disobedience is the true foundation of liberty. The obedient must be slaves. ~ Henry David Thoreau

The price wise men pay for their refusal to meddle in politics it to suffer the governance of lesser men. ~Socrates

When the gods wish to punish us, they answer our prayers. ~Ancient Greek proverb

It was battered and scarred,
And the auctioneer thought it
Hardly worth his while
To waste his time on the old violin,
But he held it up with a smile.
"What am I bid, good people," he cried,
"Who starts the bidding for me?"
"One dollar, one dollar, Do I hear two?"
"Two dollars, who makes it three?
"Three dollars once, three dollars twice, going for three",

But, no,

From the room, far back, a grey haired man
Came forward and picked up the bow,
Then, wiping the dust from the old violin
And tightening up its strings,
He played a melody, pure and sweet,
As sweet as an angel sings.

The music ceased, and auctioneer
With a voice that quiet and low,
Said, "What now am I bid for the old violin?"
As he held it aloft with its bow.
"One thousand, one thousand, Do I hear two?"
"Two thousand, who makes it three?"
"Three thousand once, three thousand twice,
Going and gone," said he.

The audience cheered,
But some of them cried,
"We just don't understand."
"What changed its worth?"
Swift came the reply:
"The Touch of the Masters Hand."

And many a man with life out of tune,
All battered with bourbon and gin,
Is auctioned cheap to the thoughtless crowd,
Much like that old violin.
A mess of pottage, a glass of wine,
A game and he travels on.
He is going once, he is going twice,
He is going and almost gone.
But the Master comes,
And the foolish crowd never can quite understand,
The worth of a soul and the change that is wrought
By the Touch of the Master's Hand.

"love is the only everything we forget, the only all-the-time we neglect, the single unconditional we still check" - a capricorn

"i'll make my dreams such a reality that soon... my dreams will dream of me" - a capricorn

"she is attached by velvet strips and pulled by forces with a pure perception of exquisiteness. they draw her, this puppet, into each stance with a creative precision that could be only truly admired through the eyes of an artist. soft, uncomplicated, languid, elegant and straightforward she is orchestrated. every movement is drawn with such poise that it grabs out the breath from my throat... and i am left unable to entertain air, therefore unable to live... lack of oxygen and i'm dying in admiration." - a capricorn

Dunno, but it's a very Capricorn sentiment. That's exactly why we save money. LOL

Here's another one before I get all serious and post a bunch of Thomas Jefferson later... 🙂 From my all time favorite Sci Fi hero!

this quote is my number one favorite and has been for years... it is one of the most peaceful and serene quotes about something that can be so chaotic... as though this moment, ripe and full of uncertainty, yet full of promise and hope, were something like a butterfly in a strong wind. pivotal. times you end up remembering forever. any person i know of or have met that i admire for who they are... i always wonder what moments like this brought them to the character they are. iain describes it poetically with fell words

"our lives can change direction in an instant. and it is possible that an entire adult can be determined by such a moment... sparkling like gold in the dross of everyday existence."

The following quotes keep me insane 🙂

"What lies behind us, and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us."

"When you do let yourself actually feel, actually let go the fear of being loved, you can and will know love. This includes knowing that sometimes true love means walking away with a polite good-bye."

"The greatest thing you'll ever learn is to love and be loved in return."
