My cat and her disappearing acts.

Hi,

I hope you can help me with this situation.

My cat and I have been together for the past 5 years, everything was going well until last year.

She started to do hot and cold and disappears for a week and then comes back. She has never done this before. Yesterday I was thinking if I have done something wrong. But I did nothing wrong...

I feed her three times a day, play with her tail, play hide and seek, and every morning I always kiss her.

And last week I took her to the vet because she ate a big bird which was stuck in her throat.

I'm very concerned about this... yesterday she was out all day and came back home at 3am smelling like trash. I asked her where she was but she doesn't talk... and when I call her she doesn't come anymore...

It's been 5 days with no contact.

She is a Capricorn sun and moon, I don't know her other placements.

Does anyone know what's going on? What should I do?

Are you sure it's a girl? Even if not neutered they stay the toms come to them.

Have you got another new pet that is freaking her a bit or something has changed?
Yes I'm 100% sure she is a female, also the vet said she was female.

I don't have any other pets but my neighbour just got a new cat. Do you think my neighbour's cat is causing this behaviour?

Animals have feelings like we do. When your cat ate the big bird can you imagine the "pain" your cat experienced? Couldn't breath? Thinking it's gonna lose its first life? Waiting for you to come back from work/school to attend to it? Well, your cat has a little trauma in her/him. She/he's NOT mad at you; just retrieving to his/her own "solitude" to continue to recoup. When you feel sick don't you stay away from others? Crawl into bed and sleep in a dark cozy place called your bedroom? Well, your cat does the same. Cats are finicky, remember? Your cat will be okay in a couple of days. Maybe he/she will NOT eat big birds again!Laughing

I don't understand why because everything was going good. I wasn't being too eager or aloof either.

We rarely have time for 1 on 1 chats, but in the little ones that we have, it's been great..small talks mainly, but kind of deep..(I try to engage in deeper but she doesn't seem too interested) she's very careful though, like she's like it's too dark here, let's go somewhere with more light, etc..

But I've noticed she's warm and friendly to others...

@evathediva that's a valid point... it's a she btw. I don't want her to eat birds but the window was open before I left home...

@justagirl actually i've noticed that she do look fatter, I thought it was the birds she secretly have been eating. Hummm I'll take her to the vet.

@parisiancappy that explains why she doesn't come when I call her name.

That was partially made in jest but there is some truth there. My cat disappears sometimes for days. I only know he is still around by the gifts of mice that he leaves in the garage. I know for a fact that he has adopted my neighbor as his other family. I've had him for 10 years so I'm still number 1.

I have a new kitty that I adopted and I desperately try to keep him inside. It's not easy with the dog and other cat constantly in and out but I'm trying. I would prefer indoor cats but my older cat was not having it.

....speaking of which, I am not finding my stray puppies!! I've searched everywhere.. they've been missing since yesterday, I am not joking, it's true.. Sad I used to feed them everyday, and from a long distance, they'd see me and come running towards me, they'd wait for me everyday.. since yesterday, they're gone!! I felt like crying. IDK if they found new shelter, it has become intolerably cold here.. if they did, it's nice.. or is the weather preventing them from coming out?! ..hope God is looking after them..

IDK their moon sign, but they are Scorpio sun. They stung me, three little puppies... will they come back or are they in better place??? I should've adopted them... Sad

I take care of the street dogs in my neighbourhood as well. If it's just been a day, then there's not much to worry about.

In case of puppies, they will start getting bold and inspecting new territories as they grow older. I would look for them at night or early morning when they are more active and their sounds are easy to track.

Asking around in your neighbourhood is a good idea as well. Children are usually more helpful in this regard.

You can also call the MC and inquire if they picked up any puppies from your area.

I hope you are able to find them soon. smile

If you are concerned about them out in this weather, you could construct a small shelter for them using a wooden box and some hay. That should keep them warm.

Perhaps give her some time and remain consistent with your love for her and work on getting better cat food

cappy cats can be very reserved like that, she may be hurting but she won't tell you, she'll just leave you snap like that instead.
