Is that why keep a super cool front every time they go out with someone they fancy but deep inside, they are broiling away?

pretty much, yeah.

+1

I'm not sure if that makes us calm and collected or just socially retarded.

i'd say a lil of both. i'm personally always calm and collected but i still find myself running into that annoying social awkwardness. perhaps it's cuz us caps are so closed up inside? all those feelings and emotions boiling and churning around inside of us on a daily basis sounds like it would be semi-logical behavior. is that making sense?? my head's in the clouds right now lol.

Perfect sense. For me that translates to a fear of exposure. Hence the drop back and assess the room mentality. Total defense mechanism.

oh good. that's exactly what i was trying to say. it is a defense mechanism, but there's also a waning desire to go against that but i believe that the real fear is not having the feelings reciprocated. i'll admit that they are some rather strong emotions and there aren't that many ppl, if at all, to be able to handle that much emotion at a single time without there being awkward feelings.

I'm pickin' up what you're puttin' down.

We kinda bring that on ourselves tho. Cause it's so seemingly outta the blue when we do open up.

🙂 yeah we def do, its like a double edged sword. i always seem to be coming outta blue with it, its difficult for me to casually introduce the subject without creating an awkward moment, even when the moment seems like the right time.

I'm trying to perfect awkward cute. Play to my strengths even if it's a weakness, ya know.

It sucks because while I consider myself a relationship person, I seem to function better on my own. However, as self sufficient/reliant as I am, there are certain itches that are harder to scratch. So to speak.

not a bad idea, although i am sure that its easier to play that angle for girls, unless the guy happens to be very charming. i agree with everything else.
