I knew one and just wanted some insight.

She had to take care of her baby sister at a young age to help her mother who stayed at home while her father was working in a gas station he owned. Instead of having sleep overs like other kids, she had to deal with her sister crying all night and had to learn to take care of her. She involves herself in different activities and associates with many people to gain recognition yet trusts no one. She's very practical and will force herself to do something if she has to, like yell to make all her siblings be quiet even though it gives her a headache and makes her sick, or force herself to finish an old cigarette because she paid for it. Her family is very traditional and all married young, so she's following in their footsteps to keep the lineage going and to make her family happy even though she does not want to.

I grew up with a mom who suffered from depression and health issues. My dad was a workaholic. My mom did a pretty good job but was absent and not stable when I was young. That taught me to be emotionally tough and I wanted nothing more than to be her opposite, emotionally.

But she said I was always pretty self reliant even as a toddler. I was the baby of 4 kids and my older sister tried to mother me but I hated it.

I pretty much was allowed to do what I wanted because I was always responsible and didn't cause trouble (until I got into my mid teens).

I enjoyed indoor activities and preferred the company of adults to kids my age.

I had very specific goalposts for certain points in my life, and I pretty much met all the milestones I laid out for myself. A lot of them got taken from me later but I rebuild.

I have friends who tell me I'm te only person they know who can go through hell and still come out OK. I'm pretty proud of that.
