What is the deal with this Cap guy?

Ok,
So I am an Aries male, and met this Cap guy through a mutual friend. First thing he does to me is make fun of me, which of course in my warped Aries way, I found endearing. We became friends on Facebook, and he almost immediately started posting on my statuses, teasing, alternately flirting, etc. I decided to ask him out, we had a great time, and he already started planning hanging out for the rest of the weekend.
Of course, he started inviting other mutual friends out as well, one of them being someone he had feelings for in the past. Yet, he was flirting with me at the same time. Now I feel like he's been using me. Yet, he constantly watching what I do on FB, commenting, etc. We were texting a lot, but I stopped initiating, and pulled away, because I don't know what he's doing.
I see the other night he was hanging out with the other guy and my best friend. What is he doing?
I hung out with another guy and some friends the next night and he comments immediately!
Are Caps usually this confusing and manipulative? I am annoyed. What's going on? Does he like me, or likes attention?

Caps are usually confusing, but we're not purposely manipulative.
I honestly don't know much about gay relationships and dynamics, but I'll try. Its hard to tell whether he's friended you up as a friend or as a love interest. And yes, it could be that he's making the other guy jealous or he could be just showing you he has lots of options. Yes, very confusing.
So, I would just tread water for now until you know him better. Be laid back and easy going, but don't drop your guard just yet. Try to get to know the situation and see what you can figure out. He might be a player.
