How signs in a chart tell if you and someone else are compatible?

A friend of mine actually gave me his birth time without hesitation. Which I found entertaining and surprising. Haha. Anyway, I think he is one of the most intellectual men that I'm physically and emotionally attracted to. We talk to each other so comfortably, and its been like that since we first met. I just wonder if he finds me attractive, and if he does what it is about me or any indication within the signs that he would personally get his attention. I'm not asking to what will get his attention, just what it is right now that he finds attractive. Just curious, can anyone give me any pointers or lead me in the right direction as to what the heck i should look for in a chart? I actually have no clue what i'm looking at when i see it. Haha. Thanks. smile
I'd like personal thoughts and or experiences too. I think that'd be so interesting to read. Big Grin
On some of these websites you can find a match option. It will tell you whether both of your aspects are squares, conjuctions, oppositions, trines... From what I gather, conjuctions and trines are good, oppositions and squares are not so good. I'm pretty new at this too, so I'm in the learning process. Also, someone on here told me to create a composite chart, which is a chart that's calculated based on both of your charts. That's basically your relationship chart. How to exactly read it, I'm working on that. Go check out astrodienst, cafe astrology and ceze.com. hope that helps!
What are his placements anyway?

@Charfig5 The composite charts are easy to read. I usually just look at the aspects and just go bing or Google

I just find it hard to look at it as a separate entity, know what I mean? That's the relationship chart. But you know, let's say, venus and the sun are in Leo, mars in Virgo, how does that translate in a relationship? I read that the signs do not matter much, is it true? Then you'd consider only the placements in houses?
Chart overlays. What planets sit in the other person's houses. I think that tells more than synastry, honestly.

I like composites too, but they more likely only confirm what you already know, just by being together.

Degrees are most important. I think on astrotheme you can get a synastry chart but I'm not sure and I'm honestly too lazy to find out right now. Maybe I'll come back... but post your charts or birthdays and we'll see what we can find smile

Anything with saturn or pluto is vital.

Okay my DOB is: May 30,1987 born at 11:01pm
His DOB is: July 22, 1989 born at 10:38 pm

Also, I can't tell if he's a cancer or a leo....or both? smile)

If it's a circular chart, you should be able to copy the picture and save it to a picture hosting site like tinypic, which then gives you the html to copy/paste here.

So your sun in his 3rd house probably speaks to how you two feel comfortable communicating. 3rd house is the communication house, and since Gemini rules the third house, communication with you feels like "home" to him, and the way he communicates speaks to how your ego works, so there's a real affinity there.

You both have planets in each other's relationship houses (5th, 7th, 8th) so there is probably romantic attraction on both sides.

His 12th house has the same planets as your 10th, and while they're outer planets (Neptune and Uranus), they can be felt. For you, the dreamy or murky aspects of the relationship may be more uncomfortable than for him because he has those planets in his 12rh house natally. He may be more comfortable with the ambiguity of your feelings for each other.

If you want to get into more detail, google "my x (planet) in his x (house) and you can discover more.

His wheel is on the inside with the blue symbols. Mine are is on the outside in red symbols.

You're right, the ambiguity irks me a bit.
I read somewhere that because of my Ascendant sing, Capricorn, I shouldn't get married early because it's in saturn? Booo! Well, that's actually not a bad thing because i've never really been with someone who i 100% wanted to marry..So, i guess that makes sense. smile
You may not get very far in romance, even if you both want it. It will take time, so be prepared to have these good parts for a while ( saturn opposite mars and Neptune opposite mercury). There's"something" about you that is making him hold back, or there are circumstances that exist or that will come up that will make him want to hold back.

This isn't necessarily a bad thing, it just means that the rewards of saturn come after some time has passed. He feels comfortable with you (your moon in his 4th house), but there isn't anything impulsive about how or when (or if) he makes the first move. I wouldn't try if I were you, because Neptune could confuse the issue and then Saturn steps in to put the brakes on everything.

Anyway, that's what I'm seeing as an amateur.

Yeah, he's clear across the country. I'm in texas, and he's in Connecticut still finishing school for a very rigorous career. Booo! Oh well. I just love talking to him so much though. I think he fills that void that i need sometimes, which is communication. smile
