Reading Synastry

OK - this might be a simple question but when reading synastry - which is kinda a joke, I should say when playing around with synastry, lets say you have:

Your Pluto conjuncts their Venus - so crazy obsessive love
but their Pluto Trines your Venus - less disturbing than the conjunct

Or other examples like that - Saturn is another example I saw, one persons seems kinda negative nelly and the other persons says this is found in married couples. Do you choose, clearly what you want to hear, or just extrapolate that while you have these strengths together, your also going to have these difficulties and its because you're the crazy Pluto or whatever?? Is one person, just going to be better at this relationship?

Basically for those that read these, how do you take it all as a whole, do you focus on a few areas that you feel are super important or just put everything together and then draw educated conclusions?
