Dark Shadow/Cloud thingy

So I've had this dreams a few times in my life time. It's always very similar. Now mind you whenever I dream my dreams are always really blurry and they don't tend to have much detail in them. But these dreams are very vivid and detailed, like I'm in between a state of consciousness and unconsciousness.
The first time it happened was when I was younger, middle school perhaps? I'm sleeping in my room with my sister. Everything is as it was before I closed my eyes, everything in it's spot and my sister is sleeping soundless next to me. Everything is right except I can't move or speak and then a dark shadow would hover into the room slowly. Of course I'm freaked out so I start trying to call out my sister for help, but I can't and I even try to move my head but I can't. The shadow hovers closer and closer and I would fight it with my every last being. I know I'm asleep so I try to wake myself up. I do end up waking up before anything happened. It was really weird and freaky. It has happened other times but it becomes less and less potent, for lack of better words.
And the last time the shadow didn't even appear, but I can feel it's looming presence and I fight it off before it even shows. I've talked to others about it and I've gotten different interpretations, like the devil or something kooky. I've actually met someone else with the same dreams it's weird. It's my Pisces friend, and he would describe them to me, and they are the same. He even told me he let it just consume him once, he was very scared and... I think I would have been to scared to let that happen. I don't know it's all so weird. Does anyone have any insight?
xtina, you are definitely not alone.
One of my friends(J)seen this thing/shadow that would hover over her while she slept, and she also was unable to move or breath. She would close her eyes and prey "the Our Father" in her mind till she felt this thing move away.
Another friend of mine(S)had quit a few run ins with this black mass that she battled with, her body would would hurt in the morning becasue she would be tensed up trying to move to get away. She hasn't seen or felt a prensence since she moved out of that house. One of my other friends(J jr), when she also witnesses the shadow thing during her wake hours. She was walking in her front door from work and started to walk up her stairs, where she seen it/black shadow standing at the top off her stairs. She arched forward and said Hello, who's there? This shadow turned on her and it was gone. Nowhere for anyone to go other than thru her top door, which was locked. She stayed outside till her brother came to go into the house with her. Sure enough all was locked up and nobody there.
She discribed this thing/black shadow wearing what seemed like a trench coat, and a wide rimmed hat. She was unable to see it's face beacuse it was too blurry.
Many moons ago, I was in a deep sleep and felt myself wake up slowly, feeling of being watched. I leaned over to check the clock. It was about 4 in the morning. I happen to look out my bedroom door(open)and seen what looked like a female crawling(like)in slow motion across my door threshold. I jumped up so quick and pulled my curtain and blinds to get light in the room, and nobody was there....(the light switch was was by the door).
Till this day this (event)still gives me the chills.
Unknown to what it all means. But I can tell you this, alot of people have similar dreams or waking moments like what you were going thru.
I started looking into this(shadowman)about 12 years ago, going online and bounced around the ghost sites and read many stories of people with similar situations. Plus the dicription of this shadow man dressed in a black trench coat with the rimmed hat is out there. All over the U.S and other countries.
