I know This Sounds More Like A Health Topic But...

Ok can anybody relate? Before I was married to my Leo ex I was always in Vogue. I had no bills (but me lol) and I was able to buy the best. My Ex Leo being a physco crazy jealous nut would flip if I wore anything nice and stylish. He called my magizines a "waste of money" and never wanted me to wear makeup (he would say I like somebody at work if I did). After I had my kids he would always insult me for cheating if I tried to diet saying I was trying to impress sombody and telling me I looked fine (I am 35 lbs over weight).

After 7 long years of his shit I have left. Unfortunitaly I am over weight and out of style . I have picked up on my hair and make up again and I look ok for work of course, but the style is gone. I have started Weight Watchers for the weight and it's working and I'm back into cardio (yuk lol).
Can anybody advise on how to get back into my cute stylish old self? I used to be able to put together an outfit and look amazing. Now because of my weight I can't dress the in the stlyes I like. I am rid of my Leo and just got away from another "bad guy" Scorpio.
I miss walking down the street and having the heads turn. I also miss other women asking me "wow where did you get that?" because I looked good.

How do you get your brain back into "looking Hot" mode? I know the weight coming off will be a big help, but I need that pizzazz back. And my budget is considerably smaller too with the kids and divorce, luckly I live close to NYC.
Any advice?
It probably is my confidence that is lacking. I have not been shopping in a good 3 years, but I think now might be a good time to try. I think your right as my weight comes off my confidence will build. All that will stem from my level of happiness.
Thanks!
first post some pictures of clothes/outfits you like from magazines/celebs/whatever because I need to see what your style is. also, since youre in a transition phase (losing the weight and all) you don't want to overspend on clothing right now because hopefully it will be too big to wear in a few months smile
^^^^ it's a good show

also, Lucky is the only magazine i get in the mail and it's all about shopping and i pretty much die waiting for it every month. they always have great outfit combos and every stitch of clothing in that magazine is labeled so you know the brand and the price so you can hunt it down online
lol I love those make over shows. I decided I'm not going to buy anything yet. I've waited this long, a couple months more wont make a difference. What I did decide to do is to go to all my old clothing haunts and try things on and browse. It will keep me motovted and also get me up to speed for what's in these days.
I used to enjoy a very electic style . All depending on the weather, my mood and the occation. I have some classic pieces that will never go out of style (and thank god because I would never be able to afford them now lol).
I like everything from a pair of jeans, high black boots and a militay duster with a ruffled shirt, to a boho type skirt, thongy sandales and peasent blouse. I love plad skirts with a sexy starch white cotton button down to riding boots, a white taylored button down and some fitted sexy tan slacks.
Again, I always try to dress the way I feel. Which hopefully soon will be much improved.
Thanks everybody that was some much needed encouragement!

Do a lot of running..its the only way of shedding the pounds..and of course eat healthly and minimise your portions...your better is used to bigger portions..I am not saying starve yourself..that is totally wrong...
So do you think running will get the best results fastest? I have been doing some work out videos, but I can add running. I have not ran in forever so it will most likely be walk, run, walk, run (and when I say run, most likely a jog).
Can running help a jiggly "had a baby two years ago and never did anything to tighten it up" tummy?
@Cancer, while you are transitioning and dieting you could invest in some good foundations and wrap dresses - they flatter most figures. Foundations will smooth any lumps and bumps.
