I'm a Human Resources Specialist. I've learned that many people don't know that supervisors are breaking the law when they request their employees to do work during their lunch hour and don't compensate them. Many people just do it but nonexempt (from FLSA) employees can refuse...
This is kind of a generalisation but, I've learned that people know what they want and how much they want to spend.
And if you are in customer service, they want you to tell them what they want to hear, nothing else.
Exerting your position of authority can be extremely exhausting when you are female working in a predominately male industry ( construction). I find it quite amusing when contractors argue on the job site and I'm called out and they see my little 5'4 self getting out of the truck...lol. Working with men I've learned to say what you mean, and MEAN what you say!..
Ooooh ladygem. Very good point! Much agreed!
Thanks wagtail.
We Gems forge a non-linear path through life. Accept and embrace your non-conformist nature. Give the well meaning naysayers an audience, but ultimately follow your own intuition. Intellect is a part of intuition, but it's not everything. You are not your thoughts. They have their time and place, but they are not you.
Do what you love. Do not allow yourself to get stuck in a job to "pay the bills". Do not do something you hate now, in the hopes that you will "someday" be able to do what you really want. Tomorrow is not guaranteed. You only have this moment.
Your life is not necessarily pivoted on major events, rather it is the sum of the small moments embroidered together that create your legacy. What you habitually do is what your life becomes.
Investigate feelings of boredom. It's a symptom of anxiety.
Create an intention list every morning. It's a good way to start the day. A clearly written list of intentions will help keep you focused and stave off distractions.
Write often in your journal. Reflect on the days events and ask yourself if you completed your intention list for the day. Be accountable to yourself.
Give gratitude for the blessings in your life. When you start to inventory all the good things in your life, it will raise your vibration. Start simple. Be thankful for the little things, too. They will multiply.
Thanks everyone. I have been spending a good deal of time lately trying to focus on a career. I do not want to float from job to job. My patience is running thin. I am snapping at family and just really uneasy. The Spirit of the Most High to those who feel off balance w/ things.
In general, as gems we care more about ideas than money. So doing what you enjoy is literally the best for us.
