I read that Geminis are prone to smoking. Are there any who don't smoke or gave up?
I knew a Gem who smoked since she was 8, she gave up last year. It took her a long time to give up. Shes puttin on some beef.
When I was younger I used to try the local tobacco, hookah and "other" substances when I traveled. I liked experiencing the different blends and flavors. I probably smoked the equivalent of a pack or so per year. I was never a smoking addict. I looked at it as a piece of fine chocolate I would savor, without binging and finishing the entire box.

Hell NO! I despise smoking. Never tried it either. I value my health and the health of my family members way too much. I was so happy when a few years back, our entire state banned smoking from public places.
I work in healthcare and it never ceases to amaze me how many smokers will come in with all kinds of illnesses, many that are a product of smoking cigarettes, and yet refuse to even consider stop smoking. It's frustrating trying to help people who refuse to help themselves.
Now, where I give smokers some credit is that because their habit is so highly taxed, they literally fund The SCHIP program, which funds health care for America's children. And do you know who pays for that? Cigarette smokers. The taxes on the sale of tobacco products, which includes cigarettes, fund children's health programs. And not just SCHIP. There are many children's health programs that are ostensibly funded by tobacco taxes.
I also know of several athletic facilities in my state which have been funded by the tax on cigarettes. So even with all the negatives about smoking, ironically there are some positives.
In the end, it's a double edged sword. If you are a smoker and have a family, quit. Studies have shown how smoking around children cause all types of related illnesses as asthma, bronchitis, allergies, and head aches just to name a few.
The real answer to smoking is never start. If you have an addictive personality, find something safer to quell your addiction. Years ago I was playing tennis in Palm Desert, CA, and a bald headed dude dressed in all black (despite it being almost 100 degrees outside) was watching me serve. He started up a conversation with me as I walked over to pick up the balls by the fence he was standing next to. Turns out it was Telly Sivalas (sp)....the guy who played Kojak in the '70's on TV. He was chopping on Tootsie Pops like there was no tomorrow. I teased him about getting diabetes from all that sugar. He laughed and said, "well baby, it's better than getting cancer from smoking all those cigarettes I used to.".....I started laughing and said, Yup, that's for sure.
When I've canvassed information about which sign is prone to addiction, it usually says it's Virgo because of all the detachment he does to hide his emotions. Which makes some sense. But as I know from personal experience with alcoholics, addiction doesn't monopolize anyone by astrological signs.

I dabble, but I've never been addicted and don't think about them if they're not around. My Gem housemate is hardcore addicted, but most Gems I know just dabble.

I would NEVER smoke...it's disgusting. Those who do; to each his/her own.
I enjoyed smoking and I always felt that it was more than a habit, that it was something I loved doing. I smoked since the age of 13 and gave it up in 2010 when I was 29. I've never had problems quitting. I quit when I was pregnant with both kids and there was once that I gave it up for more than 6 months. This is the longest though - 1 year 6 months.
And right now, the only thing putting me off smoking, is the taste it leaves in my mouth.

Smoked for 9 years, gave up 8 weeks ago. Feeling fresh as a daisy. Repulsed by the very thought of having one now.
