How are yall with handling money?

I've met several gemini's that admit to not being able to handle money. Is this just them or do you think it's just a gemini trait?

I actually have a book that says "do not loan this sign money". I don't have it in front of me, but I'll give you the title and author if you want later.

Both my ex-husband and my best friend are Gems and they are some of the savviest people I know with money and investments.

My ex husband was horrible with money. He couldn't budget to save his life. He had the attitude if you could get it (via credit) then you could have it. Never worried about having to pay it back. As long as he got what he wanted, he was happy. (That was my job in his opinion! lol!). We had numerous fights about spending and being over extended.

My friend's 20 year old daughter is constantly spending her check on clothes, manicures, make up, cool stuff, she never has money for the necessities. She says she's hyponotized by shiny objects, lol! (Her words).

i can be thrifty and i refuse to get credit cards.

I always considered myself rubbish with money but then i just thought about it, i do invest to some degree and my life style is probably extravagant so im luckier than most, especially as a single parent but im very independent, I earn it, i like to make it myself I dont want to be in a position where i have to depend on someone else, Im very generous and lend it to any friend who is need i dont ask for it back, it comes back when they are ready, i buy friends gifts, I always really push out to provide for my children. I dont like using credit cards because you never know you could lose it all tomorrow, i dont want to live on a borrowed life style , so yes i do ensure security in that way, i do feel gloomy and de-motivated if my surroundings arent stylish, but i can make the cheapest stuff look like ive gone all out with a bit of imagination, smart in financial affairs? i wouldnt say im top about that but im resourceful, if money is low i know how to make it and i will, i dont think gems are scared of hard work and are often multi talented so can apply it for some use, i wouldnt say Im money driven its not my top priority but i have to feel secure in providing.. so I guess the above is right, rubbish at saving though unless im bouncing off someone and we are sharing a goal then im all for that. Yeah I think im very leo about money.

My experience.

Me: It's Tuesday night, three days before payday: "We only have $ 100 dollars, all the bills are paid. We have groceries. That $ 100 will buy us each a tank of gas and if we are careful, we'll be fine until payday, but don't spend anything you don't have to."
Gem Ex hub: "Okay. Shouldn't be a problem".

Next day (Wednesday) comes home with lawnmower blades ( $ 45) to put on the lawnmower for saturday (couldn't wait to buy them until Friday) and $ 40 worth of T-bone steaks to put on the grill, $ 25 spent on a 30-pack of beer to drink while grilling, and says he put $ 50 worth of gas in his truck.

Me: Uhhh....what part of We only have $ 100 did you not hear?

I am just trying to explore some stereotypes and get some education. The only example I can pull from mostly is my ex and I don't mean this thread as a means of venting about him. Other than him, I only know two other gems, one is young and one I barely know.

Gemini's need to generate or earn a lot of money in order for them to be safe and secure. A Gem on a palty salary wont survive well.

I'm very good with money for the most part, I pay all my bills...maybe not always on time? lmao but I always pay my bills then I will give to my kiddos and do a lil spending. I can be frugal so I'm def a "SAVER" I have 2 accounts and If one gets below a certain amount I panic!!! smh but all my friends that are Scorps, Aries, and Pisces want my help to get them to save Money hehe 🙂 🙂

I also think we like the finer things in life, and spoil others we feel deserve it...so we will spend on those things without hesitation and that can break the pocket's so to speak LOL

Yea, i'm not so good either. Just last year I thought I was ready for a house and got shut down!!!! My score was raised and all, but when it came down to it, I didn't manage my money correctly.

I always tip.. if I take a cab to a corner store that was literally 5 dollars.. I would tip 5/6 dollars.. I am wayyyyy to nice when it comes to TIPPING it's my weakness I feel like they always look forward to it.. when I eat in restaurants I always tip 10 DOLLARS LMFAOOOOOO.. I act like I'm some high roller then the next day I would be dead broke having NO money and wondering why AGAIN!! I'm wayyyy to kind sometimes I wish I didn't care about human beings the way I did because I care to damn much dammit lol

That's sweet.

When I was younger, money just slipped threw my fingers and the credit card full to the limit. Now I'm older I still find cash in pocket hard to manage but my credit and savings is fantastic now that I learnt the value of the dollar. Yeah!!!!

I have a hard time balancing or even budgeting money...............My mom is an aqua and when I was still in grade school I was forced to do some selling ): I did learn a valuable lesson in getting my money quick and fast but when it comes to balancing I'd have to argue with my mom...):

I think her idea of teaching me to stand on my own back fired because I now know I can do such things with ease and equally hate it very much so I don't plan on using it unless I need to.

Hmmm my friends enjoy spending their money on me lol but I do pay them back by taking them out for lunch, snacks, or hang out somewhere far away from the city.

It depends really on the depth and sincerity of your friendships. I'm very blessed with understanding and helpful friends I wouldn't exchange regardless of their signs. 🙂
