Maybe you should give it some time. You have only "hung out" ONCE. Way too soon to tell.... but anything can happen IF YOU ARE WILLING to do the work.
In my experience with my ex husband of 10yrs it was disastrous. Scorps & Gems tend to gravitate towards each other but in my experience we just speak two different languages in love. The way we approach issues is very different and leads to conflict. Gems tend to be logical and passive aggressive where Scorps are straight to the point and blunt. And as mentioned by TokerX both will build up walls to protect themselves from these different forms of communication that don't quite compliment each other. Scorp believes Gem isn't being open even if they are and so they retreat and Gem feels attacked and hurt by the sting of Scorp and so they retreat as well. Gem is always thinking and Scorp can be with holding which is also something that creates tension. Neither intend to hurt each other I believe but as mentioned before, we have different languages. As friends it seems to work much better. I think Scorps are too "hard" for Gem. And Gem is too "Free Flowing" for Scorp. Just in my opinion and experience anyhow.
