My Gemini Mother

and her lazy, self-hating habits really get to me. she used to be so nice, witty and just plain amazing. really a superwoman in my eyes. bt ever since her divorce (7 years ago) she's been really into drugs & alcohol. she had long flowing hair & she cut it all off. she's known for doing *clears throat* "favors" around town & owes many different people lots of money. she sleeps all day & all night & when she wakes up she's a complete bitch ! I really did love & admire her at one point in my life now idk who she is. I didn't decide I disliked geminis until I became friends with a gemini man. the same pattern happened with him but over a lesser time period. he tells me he's done so much shit in the past that he feels like he's nothing & doesn't deserve happiness or stable relationships. im guessing my mother thinks the same about herself...I just don't understand how they can feel so shitty about themselves. they're so cool & smart as hell only to act as if none of that matters.. as if they don't matter. its heartbreaking.

thank you. I wish I could find a solution in getting here out of this funk. she's better than this. same goes for my friend. & its like they know their potential & what they need to do to change they just choose not to. how can I motivate her to do better ?

Im just worried because shes heavy into drugs. maybe an intervention can get the ball rolling ?.. idk.

@StarLover It's a terrible position to be in. I have other, much younger, siblings & she throws her responsibilities to care for them on me. I feel like a single mother. I missed the chance to graduate from highschool & get into a normal teen life when i was younger because of this. Its stressful and agonizing at times. Reality really hit on my 20th birthday. This is my life. watching her & dealing with her responsibilities is stressful. I not only want to get help for her but for me, i want to live my own life...

Lol you think ive never had those "FUCK THIS AND FUCK YOU" moments ?? my family looks down on me when ever i attempt to not deal with the bullshit. then i feel bad & im back to my regular routine. its one big circle. many times ive considered just running away but then who will tend to my babies ?? she's an evil woman when she comes down from whatever the hell she's on, id say coke or speed; they're happier and less hostile when im around to save and care for them. so leaving is easier said than done.

Gemini's are amazing people and give 100% .....if she hit rock bottom, I can almost guarantee someone did her real dirty. Plus she can't be all bad, she got custody of you three, now didn't she.

Dont get me wrong she has those moments where she can be really lovable, when she sobers up for family gatherings she goes back to the funny, witty, and caring side of her ; her last husband (the father of my siblings) was the one to rip her heart out, beat & belittle her. he's gone & out of the kids lives. MY father well ... he's across the country with the new family he doesnt include me in so i dont depend on him for shit. I've asked him for help once before & he claimed i wanted a relationship solely for the money. So yea can eat a dick for all i really care.

Luckily she's aware she's not Mom material and has declared she's not going to have kiddies.

cps is out of the question. they've been put through that before & ill go on a fucking murder spree before that happens again. fuck our fathers, we don't need them anyway & I'm not gona put the burden of two kids on my grandparents. they have enough stress on them. they work their asses off to pay for everything this family needs still to this day when they shouldn't be working at all. my mom is not a bad person. she's just been hurt in the worst way that any mother and wife could ever be hurt.

Sorry you hate Geminis' because of 2 people. I have a Capricorn mother who has done some pretty fucked up things when I was a child. I vowed to be nothing like her and I'm not. Most of her children can't stand her because of how she is. My boys love me and tell me I'm the best mother! I don't put a man first, and when I was divorced it was me and my two boys against the world. What you have to do is learn that she is who she is and that's that. Spend your time enjoying your life. Love her even if you can't stand her ways. That's what I had to do; accept that my moms is pretty messed up and there's nothing I can do about it. I still love her but I keep my distance.

Oh my dad was fucked up too...he died and I didn't feel a thing. Parents!

Good luck honey, if we could do nothing for you but to at least lend an ear, than so be it. Its a tough call and this is the internet with a bunch of strangers giving advice, strangers that also have their own problems(I won't mention any names) I wish you and your siblings all the best.

Your mom needs rehab, therapy and love and support. She sounds severely depressed, I'm sorry you all are going through this. It's extremely sad and painful for any family to watch someone they love self destruct. She in my opinion is an addict and isn't doing everything bc she is malicious. Addicts think of one thing themselves. She isn't going to be rational or logical. Depression is a heavy pill, its a sick cycle, I promise she is feeling a ton of guilt on top of everything bc she knows she should be doing better but she doesn't have the sight to see out of the dark cloud she is in.

I feel sad for everyone, I hope you can be there emotionally the best you can be for your younger siblings.

same feeling. this is really sad to hear. therapy and rehab is the only way ahead. if you care for your mother not to waste her life..please get help for her soon. even if you are alone ask your friends to help you along if its needed. let us all know how it goes. my heart goes out to you. all the best.
