I mostly want to post go get it off my chest and maybe talk alil about it...

I've been through a lot in my life, but nothing prepared me for what I saw this morning...

I was working when one of my regular customers came in. I looked up at her and just was beside myself. She had cuts, fresh cuts, all over her face! I asked her if she was alright. She started to well up and told me "I'm having a really hard morning." I asked again. I couldn't believe what I was seeing.... She said, "It's not as bad as it looks, but I'm ok." I asked if it was a person, or animal. She looked away and started to cry... I confirmed it as being a person and she looked back at me and nodded....

It looked like someone took a boxcutter to her face and drew lines down it. There were some lil gouges, too. I couldn't help it, I well up with her... Becuz of her reaction, I'm assuming it was a bf/husband who had done that to her... Altho, I am assuming... What posses a person to do that to another human being?? The cuts aren't deep, just surface, bur there's a possibility that there will be permanent scars, as she did not go in and was running late for work...

What possess a human to do that to another fellow human.....?

The fact you allow yourself to FEEL is beautiful. i have the notion where people refuse to feel someone elses pain and i do not understand why one would do so. Humans hurt humans because they feel as though their in the right and since you hurt the person its an eye for an eye. i cant tell whether such actions are from love or hate but i can tell you what happens after will tell you.

Oh my god, Misslissa. Are you hoping you can offer help to her, or do you just need to share? ThIs is terrible.

I agree with Chachacha. The fact that you showed that woman such empathy must have meant the world to her at that moment.

Yes, Misslissa, you are such an amazing person, almost saint like. I hope you sprinkle her with your angel dust and make her pain,(physically and mentally) go away.

Whimsy, I had discussed it with my aqua. Sometimes getting involved makes it worse. Like, the abused will "vouch" for the abuser cuz she loves him... I have decided that if she comes in again like that, or abused in any way, I will get her plate # and call the cops. For now... I just have to get it off my chest... I've been in her position so many years ago... Not that it was any less severe, cuz abuse is abuse, but never cut. And my heart just goes out to her... Maybe we could all just send a positive thought her way today as she struggles...

Thanks, Chacha... I appreciate it. I do have an over abundance of empathy. Can ALWAYS put myself into others shoes... It's due to a gem/cancer/aqua mix.

I have, too... Even in my own,experiences as a young adult. And, you're right. Like I said above... Even when it was happing to me.... It sometimes makes it worse for the abused. Most often, there is a co-dependency that has been formed, whether from external or internal influences, can they can't seem to live without the abuser... It is a delicate situation. But, next time I will, becuz when I was going thru it.... I secretly wished someone would've done it for me.

Oh no, was jobless for awhile. Been in customer service for almost a year now.

Yes, this ^^

And it's true, the abused are often unwilling to do it, themselves-- but if it got worse/escalated like you said-- I would feel horrible if I had done nothing.

It's a difficult situation to be in.

It is and I agree.... At this point I would, but I don't have anything to identify her. Just a first name... She pulled off before I could get her plate #...

In my town (probably in every town, I guess), there are abuse hotlines set up. When they get a call, they go get the abused woman and take her somewhere safe so that they can then deal with the abuser without her getting pummeled even more. Might you find a number for a place like that and have it ready if she returns? Some women might not be aware that help even exists.

That is true... Here it's alil different. We have battered womens shelters where she can check into like a motel kind of thing, but there are no agencies that will do what you discribed.... It's sad. But, I will create a list of #s for her, definitely! 🙂

It's frightening to see some things .... but, she was freely in a position to seek help if she wanted it. So, though, I understand the emotion you went through looking at it .... to feel any deeper than that or for a prolonged period of time, or to take any action is unreasonable, considering she is an adult and has the ability to help herself, and do what is in her best interest to do.

I can't believe I'm saying this but for the first time I agree 100% . You shouldn't assume anything about anyone. Could have been a myriad of different stories, but she didn't tell you. And even if she did who is to say it would be the truth?

I understand what both of you are saying... And, this was part of the discussion my aqua and I had, as well. I have also taken this into consideration.
