Love = beyond just liking...in other words, feeling deep emotions for someone or something. to care, be compassionate, protect and admire.

To be IN LOVE = feeling intense deep soulful passionate emotions that have permeated your inner core; so much so you sleep, eat, drink and live for being with that person. You will go to the ends of the earth to make them feel appreciated and loved. Early stages, you are giddy, you feel your heart pound when seeing the person of your affection, and you temperature elevates when they put their arms around you. You feel safe. You feel loved. You are allowed to be 'you'.....

Both forms can wax and wane. But they are uniquely different. You can love someone but not be in love with them. You can be in love with someone who can love you back, but who isn't in love with you.

Probably what distinguishes them the most is the first is easy; the latter requires vulnerability, selflessness, and commitment. That is why real, pure, feelings of being 'IN LOVE' are truly something special and worthy of nourishing and protecting it.

why did my post make you sad? don't understand.

The idea of being in love with someone who is in love with me is saddening because I feel like I will never find it.

But if it were to happen I would hope it would be beautiful as you described
