I was alone in a classroom with my professor and two models when a lockdown was in place and we were told that there was an intruder in the building with a gun. It turned out to be nothing. It was a student with a pellet gun. I feel crazy, ever since. I feel different from everyone, around me. I feel disconnected and ashamed in who I am, and I feel suicidal sometimes. I can’t stop myself from living in the past, and I can’t move on from this day. Help me someone, if you can.

Colleges generally have counseling and psychological services, have you looked up yours?

I'm sort of in a mentality state myself. I always get this crazed feeling that some crazy redneck will someday invade my house late at night with a gun. This is why I keep my rifle aside with me at all times. I need no humans help.

And why do you feel ashamed in who you are? No one should ever feel ashame in who they are as a person no matter the status of their mental health. Disconnected, I feel you on that. Stay disconnected if you want but don't be shame about it.
And far as being suicidal, you might need to seek phycological help of some sort.

There are a lot of studies out there that show people with mental illness are actually the smart ones. Life is hard and scary and you’d hafta be pretty ignorant to get through it completely unscathed. Be smart enough to ask for help when you need it. And not just here. Real, psychological help.
You’re not alone. You are loved. Be well.
