My Short Term Goal is ...

To lose 25 pounds in 30 days.
I wonder if I can do it. Now that I don't have school, I don't have to worry about drinking loads of sugar just to stay up all night Winking
I don't know, that's what I want to know too LOL

ABSOLUTELY NOT. Have you ever looked at a pound of meet? 1 pound does not sound like much but it really is. Healthy Weight loss is in increments of 1-2 pounds a week. Why wouldn't you want to work toward a long term goal vs. short term? Don't get me wrong it is possible too loose large amounts of weight in a short amount of time, on a very reduced caloric intake. Most likely you will gain the weight back and plus some and be miserable in the process.
My recommendation is to focus on life change not just temporary weight loss. Healthy weight is about adopting healthy habits of strength training, carido, healthy calorie intake and understanding the right incriments of food are needed (i.e. high protien diet), and even supplements. I think once you adopt these types of behaviors your life will change not just temporairly but for a life-time and you will look and feel better. It is more simple than people make it ....it is calories in .....calories out. There is a science to finding the right types of food that you like and finding the right excercise you enjoy. Once you get this mastered and figure out how many calories you need for intake and how many to burn .....you are on a roll.
If you are unsure about a lot of this ....hire a personal trainer. It is a great investment where you will learn invaluable information.
Either way .....congratulations for wanting to take that initial step toward changing your life. smile

I lost 50 pounds after having my daughter and to be honest I was never focused on the number more about how I looked and felt. I am a runner and found that is how I dropped a good portion of my weight. I than learned about strength training and fell in love with weight training.

25lbs. in 30 days?!?!?!? Might as well cut off your left arm. That's unhealthy. PD answered your question the best on this. Geez, even when I tried cutting weight most I would lose was 8 lbs. max in a sauna with plastic on for an hour.
