THE MAN MY MOTHER WAS MARRIED TO AND MY FATHER WERE BOTH IN THAT WAR.
MY FATHER WAS A GUNNER IN THE B 17 MY MOTHERS HUSBAND WAS A GROUND SUPPORT MAN.
I visited the Normandy beaches a couple of years ago now
only spent a day there, which is nowhere near enough time
the museum in Caen is a day in itself
you can't help but be speechless when visiting the military cementries
Dieppe also has a feel about it
I'm originally from Newhaven,Sussex,so I visited the town often
my Grandfather was a Canadian soldier,he didn't take part in the raid on 19th August 1942
the Canadian cementry in Dieppe is alot smaller by comparison, but no less poignant
