Are Leos good liars?

I swear if a Leo doesn't want you to know something you will NEVER find out... Is this true? Especially for the male leos?

I don't think Leos try to be good liars because Leos are generally not really afraid to point out the truth, even if it's harsh and hard. Leos have no problem with rawness of being truthful.
Lying isn't typical of Fire signs because they are traditionally viewed as "obvious". But Leo is most definitely the most manipulative of all the fire signs and could voice a lie or two just for plotting a personal plan. Whether they are good or not, that depends on the individual. But yes, there is a dark side to Leos, even if we might not want to admit it,

You seem like you know a lot about Leos! What kinds of characteristics do you think pertain to their "bad side"?

Deceit and lies are so different from secrecy.
I try to lie to my husband but it NEVER EVER works. My nephew says I need to learn to make a poker face. Cancer ascendant. Sigh
On the other hand, I can be super secretive and private

+1000 on the super secretive and extremely private. Only those who hold my highest trust will get access to that.
Lying on the spot...nope. Not possible.

Yeah my boyfriend is HORRIBLE at lying on the spot. He does this weird thing with his smile haha I can just tell, but if I do not ask he does not tell. So annoying sometimes
GC, I think it is against my values. I have tried and it is not possible, i feel guilty and it comes across my face. Even if I was to "work" up to a lie, meaning putting things in motion where my actions would not be suspect I still feel to the core dirty and wrong, even if I get away with it. So I prefer not to put myself in any situation where I am faced with the possibility of lying and if confronted with a wrong I always find it best for both parties and the conscious to be truthful and deal with the consequences right then and there.
Oops, I did it again. Please forgive me. smile
Awww, thank you. I promise to be good from here on out.

I hate lying.
However, I don't feel compelled to tell people what isn't their business.

Absolutely; however, that response suggests the secret info in question doesn't pertain to(nor concern) anybody else other than the person keeping it under-wraps. When said unmentionables could affect somebody's life in a major way if divulged? Then perhaps it should be considered the second party's business.
Granted, being the bearer of terrible game-changing knowledge is a dreadful burden--take it from a Libra--we understand this all too well Tongue

Well, then-- that would be a lie of omission!
Which, of course, is still a lie.

If the situation was *truly* like that-- if the info could affect someone's life if divulged-- then I'd have to get all kinds of philosophical about it.
For ex.:
Well... I guess you're going to have to decide what is more important to you: running for President of the U.S.... or Me, with my checkered past.

Tongue
If it's the former, then we would never have made it for the long haul, anyway.

I'm trying to think of something, though, that (if divulged) could really have ill effects in the lives of normal people--
If it's in the past, who cares?
It'll come out, eventually.
Obviously, I'm not talking about things like:
-- I have another family in Texarkana
-- My ex is getting out of the pen, next year-- and he's still pissed I put him there
-- I talk to aliens
-- I'm a Pagan
Etc. etc
These are not things that should be hidden.
But the rest-- what purpose does it serve, other than leaving oneself open to judgement.

smile

I am a TERRIBLE liar. It's so bad I don't even try anymore.

To clarify--I WAS referring to subject matter of the same caliber as your ex-in-prison/secret previous family examples.
Surely though, some folks effectively keep those skeletons deep in the closet & take their sordid secrets to the grave rather than finally breaking down & confessing the deets to whom it directly concerns.

If the secrets don't catch up with them first, of course.

Even if I begin to lie I end up feeling guilty, or obviously get caught between lies and feel stupid then I just confess. I can be a really good lier, but then again my moon is scorpio so I've thought out an alibi before it even happened. Usually I never lie, I go by the don't ask don't tell logic. It's really so much easier to tell the truth, and in the long run people will respect you for it. The reputation of a lier is way worse then a moment of truth.

lol i could write an entire novel on our "bad" sides. I'm a typical Leo (I think) and my Libra Moon/Mars gives me the ability to see both sides. Give me a specific subject, and I will give you some insights.

My experience has been the opposite. Although they may try their hand at deceiving others, they're rarely(if ever)GOOD/successful at it. Tongue

Agreed. They are only able to pull the wool over the eyes of the gullible, while thinking their skills in deception are second to none (like everything else about them).

Sooo
We're all lying about not lying and/or being lousy liars?

Dumbass.
Most leos are territorial. So I think if they don't want you "in" on their stuff they won't let you know. But lying outright is probably not their cup of tea, y'know? Noble ideals and all.
Only time I can lie is when I lie to myself LOL.
I know how well that goes over! :S
