I was just thinking about my past relationships and my two best were both Leos. Like really beautiful relationships where we split up mainly because life happened, no hard feelings and we remained friends. I am a Cancer with Venus in Leo and I am given to understand that Cancer/Leo is not all that great a match by astrology, so I am WTFing at the moment. Since my smaple size is too small to form any meaningful conclusion, I thought I would ask y'all about your experiences (good and bad). What do you make of all this?

I am a Cancer male for the record.

Hello Crustacean! 🙂

I'd agree with Jynja.. I love Cancerians. Many of my favorite people are Cancer or Cancer 'heavy' chart-wise. I admit that I have built up many walls around myself and have high guards about myself. However, many Cancers are able to quickly take down the majority of those walls. I find myself telling my Cancer friend (the closest one) things I NEVER thought I'd say out loud... let alone to somebody else!! The most astonishing part is that it comes out rather easy, and without being 'forced' out. Most importantly.. (and a trait that I value greatly about mature Cancerians) I never feel judged. Just acceptance. It's so beautiful to me.

My closest Cancer friend has been off and on with a Leo for 15 years, and it's always been *life* getting in the way and not negative.

Very interesting.

^^What happens to Leos when they find someone louder or flashier than then in a social setting or a club? Do they compete or go silent? I am very curious to know, trying to understand the Leo psyche better as you are such good people to know.

I have a very close Leo female friend right now, what a lovely bond we share! We have both seen each other at our strongest and weakest, we are there for each other and we are loyal to a fault. No one will screw with either of us knowing the other one is prowling around. It's fantastic! That's why I find it kind of amazing that astrology doesn't give this pair more value.

I wonder if a Cancer with some air and fire would get along better with a Leo than a watery cancer.

Oh Btw, you got to get yourself some cardinal love, you ain't seen nothin' if you just keep goin' after fixed signs! All your Leo creativity will come out with a Cardinal sign much better....just sayin'

That right there....this is the relationship between me and my female Leo friend. We know eachother for a bit more than a year and she told me that I am one of the five most important and trustworthy people in her life (this includes family!!). I didn't even consciously do anything! All I do is listen to her problems, offer tiny bits of advice where I can and calm her and pull her back when she is going into rage. She also does the same for me when she knows I am getting impulsively. I love this friendship, it's the best!

My best friend through my teens and twenties was a cancer (an older than me one) - it was soooooo easy, and it was life that got in the way, i'd imagine if we met again we would just pick up were we left off - complete understanding on every level

I do love cancers, only really know any adult ones through my students but they are all so NICE, and weepy 😉

I have a little crab and crabette as my blessings as children and they are so loving, funny, emotional and can't get enough food, their sidestepping is hilarious. I could imagine a romantic relationship with a crab man would be very interesting and fulfilling.

Leo's with louder people? Well in my case the louder people are the Aries that I know and I completly enjoy their loudness and boisterousness, it brings out my own fire. Those type of people are the types I love to be around, I may not be as loud, Aries outdo lions in that department, but I am always laughing the loudest!

Leo mum and crab children, what a combination! I have to say with the two personal experiences I have had romantically with Leo women that it was very fulfilling, they brought out my best. I actually was able to be free and happy without any trouble. Me and my female Leo friend go out and rock the town all the time with so much ease. The two of us together generate so much power and energy, it's like a bright cocoon! Hard to describe but lovely to be part of.

It's weird about the loud people thing though, being a cancer I should naturally shy away from them but I don't. I actually feel so happy with people like that, I can laugh and party endlessly with them. Oh Aries women that's another story, so direct that there is no option to sidestep anything...lol. This is where astrology confuses me because Leo and Aries are not naturally the sign I am compatible with but I get along with them very well. On occasions I am loud enough to even quiet down the Arians...lol!

I am attracted to Cancer men like no other sign. I have noticed the ones I tend to like have many Leo placements though. They are so incrediably sexy. Have Mercy

Although astrology does say we are not the best match, Venus is never more than 45 degrees from the Sun. It only makes sense that there would be an attaction to a neighboring sign.

The attraction does not negate the emotional blackmail, the inability to confront problems or situations head on or the smothering that tends to happen from day 1 of the relationship.

As you can tell, it's a love hate relationship. Flings are fun..long term probably not. Water extinguish fire every single time.

This is the part I don't get, it has always been my opinion that mature adults should talk about their problems so that they can find a combined solution. Why would it even degenerate into emotional blackmail? I am confused when people say that about Cancer. I am usually directly aggressive and confrontational and make no mistake I am a Cancer and I have some of the Cancerian traits but resorting to emotional blackmail is certainly not one of them.

The two relationships I had with Leo women didn't end due to problems but because we moved somewhere else and couldn't sustain it, so I am not too sure that it should fail in the long run. Perhaps you've had different experiences.

You are so right! I imagine life with a Cancer man would be peaceful, romantic and exciting. I'm not sure why I've never been pursued by a cardinal sign. Perhaps, some feel intimidated by powerful women?

Oh well, I think a watery cancer would work better for me than one with lots of air or fire. I'm laid-back and introverted (7th house Capricorn, 1st house true node, moon and ascendant in tight conjunct), preferring to improve my home and family than be a public personality. Currently, my boyfriend (asc Cancer, sun Scorpio, moon Leo) leads the way in public displays. I'm just happy to tag along.

I think a Cardinal sign would naturally pursue a powerful woman, they wouldn't back down on that. I have Venus in Leo and i always go for women who tend to stand out the most in any social setting. It could be all kinds of reasons including flaming red hair...lol.

Yeah I guess your placements are probably better off with someone a bit more watery. I have very little water in my chart and no earth at all.....lol. Maybe I should find a Leo with a lot of Earthy placements to complement my chart...😄

I'm an Earthy Leo. A bit of Water but very Earth dominated in my chart. I don't know whether that plays a part in the following, but in public I vibe off of the energy in the room. I never break the social norm in a public place behavior-wise (i.e., being obnoxious, gaudy). I'm resentful with loud noises, too. If there's *anything* that I do in public 'too loudly'.. it's laughing and giggling. 🙂

I'm action oriented, so my expressions in public are driven by my body language. Why talk out loud when my curves can do the talking for me? 😉 LMAO. Okay that was just damn silly, but you probably get my point. 😛

LOL....I see what you mean there. Trust me, ladies like that don't go unnoticed. Good looking , humorous and dignified has always been a winner 😉. Maybe the earthy placement has something to do with that. Are you also conscious about how you spend money and in general finding a secure life for yourself? Are you structured and good at implementing things?

Sorry for the number of questions 😛

It's okay. 🙂

I'm conscious of how I spend my money.. but I have knowingly spent it wrongly, before. I've always planned ahead long term and try to set up many safety nets for myself. I'm structured in some pieces of my life.. I'm really good at planning events or tasks. I'm prone to logical thought over emotional. I'm good at implementing my plans and ideas *if I don't talk myself out of it*.
