Leo Man/ Scorp Woman - trouble getting started?

I'm new to the leo game but I'm interested on how you leo men think/ act.
Quick back story - friends with Leo and start to get a bit of a crush, I end up kissing him one drunken night after a lot of flirting and spend the night with him - pretty physical but didn't have sex. We then proceed to spend every other day hanging out a little (we see each other almost every day too at training)and text back and forth all day most days- it's very flirty and there is a ton of chemistry.
A week after that first night we spend the afternoon in bed and it is amazing and addicting as we both agreed. To be fair, he held back before we slept together because he needed to tell me that he's not ready to be serious right now - he wants to buy a place first before he will be. I appreciate his honesty and still give in to my urges...
We hung out once last week - though we had dinner plans he had to change them last minute 'because something else came up'. I asked him to hang out last night and watch the game at the pub but he went elsewhere though afterward mentioned a few times how he wished he'd come out with me (so confusing).
Anyway, today I told him we are on different pages - I'm an all or nothing girl and I want dates and romance and the potential for something serious but I understand he isn't ready for that and that it's no ones fault but rather just how it is.
I really like this guy and know he cares for me too and does consider me serious relationship material but he's not in that place - he even alluded to my baking being worthy of marriage. When we've gone out for drinks or ice cream he's been very affectionate and held my hand (reached for it) and hugged me and the kisses are very intense for both of us (but that is not enough for me)
My question is... where to from here from his perspective? He did tell me that I suck because of this (in a silly way) so I know it's not his favorite idea but he also doesn't want to hurt me. We are both being honest but I wonder are we both just being too stubborn? Will he come around when he's in the right place (he did say, for right now) or am I just hoping for too much? Did I make the right step in stopping things?
