Sounds like this guy pulled a fast one on you. Once he said he wasn't over his ex, the self respecting thing to do would have been to end it right there. Sounds like you were definitely the rebound in this situation since he didn't really have time to get over his ex. Then a month later after he still felt down, he reached out to you hoping you'd make him feel better. After you helped him out, he still felt the same as before.
I think your best bet is to give this guy a lot of space.

Does anyone have this or know someone that does? I am at the hospital right now with my 16 year old son. He has been losing weight rapidly, sleeping a lot and just looking sickly.
