I agree. But I've noticed it upsets me- a LEO - more than other..say earth signs. I tend to take things more personally :/

Nothing makes me feel ugly rotten things quicker than this. It makes me sick to my stomach..and I have all kinds of hateful thoughts. It really is toxic to Leos to feel overlooked in my opinion. I can think as logically as I want, and I still feel this initial reaction.
My sunny Leo side is usually "dark" anyway haha (Scorpio Moon). Story of my life. But its crazy cause i seek attention to get out of the confines of the scorpio energy but sometimes I hold back cause I lose a bit of privacy. Internal battle.
Regardless I still have moments where I might feel overlooked but I still "radiate" anyway

Jynja to me is a example of recognition state type of Leo. She is a manager and seems to be driven to excel in her domain. She will inevitably be recognized for her accomplishments. She is getting the ego satisfied in a healthy and productive way. She is not the pathetic type of Leo who is constantly on facebook posting pics hoping to get a "like" from some loser to get that insatiable fix.
The weak Leos i have little mercy for them and little kindness. I am egotistical to an extent and i dislike those who embarrass the sign with lameness.

definitely true with my Leo. if I am doing me (without him) or I don't show him attention he gets shook up. sometimes I like to watch him try and get my attention. he's very melodramatic and can't make quite a bit of noise.

I have already clarified this a thousand times. There are two types of leos in society. weak and strong.
Weak Leos are at the mercy of others. They are slaves of other's opinions and they can be easily destroyed and exploited if other wishes to do so. they are embarrassing and pathetic people of our sign. I am unable to understand why they humiliate themselves and how they don't resent the people who give them attention. I would resent the very person if i needed that person's attention.
Strong Leos like recognition. There is a slight difference between recognition and attention. Attention is like craving the 24/7 Hollywood media coverage type of thing. Recognition is more about striving to excel at what you love and being recognized for it. It is more productive and based on sel expression and achievement in your chosen field. Also, you should do the activity because it brings you joy and not solely with hopes of getting recognized. You should be happy if you are reconized but you also should not need it. Since we all have a ego it is impractical that you will be perfectly unselfish so this form of attention is atleast better than lower from of attention.
The highest leo simply does what he loves and is not concerned with any from of recognition. he is completely coming from a unselfish and divine perspective. This is obviously the ideal but i understand it will be only the rare among us who can do this.
We should all avoid the attention state and be in the more powerful recognition state. the ego needs some form of validation so it is fine and natural to a extent. it should simply be backed by genuine results and benefits to society.
