I was married to one for 20 years. Great man, hated the way he would sulk when we argued or should I say, I said my peace and he would go sit in a corner. He was also uninvolved with the children and more focused on career and money and his hobbies outside of this were selfish (sports like golf and surfing) things that weren't family orientated. When we went away as a family i.e.: skiing, I looked after and tried helping the children learn to ski while he went straight to the top mountain to ski down :/

Other than that we had a very easy going relationship as I did my thing and he his. Nothing was ever really a problem and there was hardly any fighting. More we ended up going our own separate ways because there wasn't enough in common and our goals for the future weren't compatible.

We are still good friends and have respect for each other.

I'm sorry to hear that things didn't work out, but I'm glad that at least you are friends. It's hard to accomplish that after a break up. I've always bern the type to want to do things with my lover. While I have an independent spirit, always doing stuff with "the guys" or concentrating on indivisible pursuits gets boring in addition to subtracting from the relationship. I'm always willing to try new things, so often times I would ask my lovers what they liked to do and I'd make it happen. As for cheating, that is a definite no no in my book. I had the exquisite non pleasure of watching the effects of my Sag father's cheating on my Taurean mother. They were divorced a year after I was born, but the stories are legendary. It pained me to see her have each of her mates do her wrong and cheat. All women have my deepest sympathies in that department. I guess, I've always been a unique person. I've been told so by many people. But I remain humble due to my spirituality.

Most* Libras will actually encourage your pursuit of independence. So long as the resulting absence isn't constant or excessive and doesn't interfere with contributing your half of the effort toward the relationship. In respect to sweetheart's post, I agree that neglect of familial or spousal duty in lieu of leisure activity is entirely unacceptable.

*exception: an atypically clingy Libra.

And I encourage theirs as well. I know quite well what's it like for a father to not be around. Frankly, mine did me a favor by not being around. Lest I'd end up like him. As for my ex(Libra), it seems like it would kill her for me to leave. But it was because I had to work and so did she. We did balance the amount of time we were together and when we pursued things on our own. We did, however, get into a heated discussion once over spending time together. This occurred after we had officially broken up and were just trying to be friends.

I am aware of what is often said about Sag men. While I have acted differently, I would like to know about some of your experiences with them.

I'm likely biased, given aspects of my natal chart(Moon/Saturn/Uranus/Lilith in Sagittarius). Nonetheless I'm entirely at ease in the company of Sagittarian men & women alike, specifically in terms of platonic relationships.

From an intimate POV, the sole experience I had with a Sagittarius was bittersweet at best.
Positives:the level of mutual understanding we shared was uncanny, as well as common admiration for one another. Adventurous, fun experiences were always within reach and simultaneously, low-key days were equally enjoyable.

Dealbreakers:Unfortunately once things got physical, drama began. And on that note the sex was nothing to write home about. Additionally his propensity for cheating in prior relationships automatically resulted in my dismissing his credibility, upon learning the shady details too late. Furthermore, he had considerable legal troubles in the past as a result of impulsive and careless mistakes.
At the end of the day I refused to invest any energy nor time in a notorious, unpredictable character regardless that we got along so well before. Despite his overall intelligence the guy clearly didn't believe in common sense. Needless to say, I cut the cord without looking back.

My anecdote is not representative of the average Sag by any stretch, I'm well aware. If anything, the moral of the story is to be honest with others about your intentions and that timing is everything. lol.

I've known several Sag men in my lifetime, and all I can say is that they were irresponsible cheaters lol. Unfortunately, the men of my side have a hard time growing up, although that was never my case. If anything, the women I've dated have demonstrated that they were not ready for a serious relationship...except for the one Libra I dated.

Hey guys

I've been gone for awhile but I'm gonna jump right in here lol. I dealt with a Sag man for years. Best/Worst experience of my life

Likes: playful, outgoing, never dull moments, great conversations, great sex. I loved that he had a really big heart (tho he didn't show it well), and he was a mans man. Not clingy or needy

Dislikes: He was always sleeping with other women. He could be extremely cold and hurtful. So damn stubborn it made no sense.
he was also very inconsistent and all over the place. Like he couldn't complete one thing he was doing before he was off trying to do another

I get along with them great as friends. They are a lot of fun, but dating one wouldn't be the best idea for me

I'm personally not this way, but we can be cold and hurtful. The reason? It's either out of anger, frustration, annoyance, or simply responding to a slight or attack. We do have a quick temper...but so do Libras lol. We are notoriously blunt and tell the truth at the wrong time. But remember, our zodiac sign is half man, half horse. This makes us clumsy, even with the truth. Most of the time, we don't intentionally harm people, but we tell them the truth in order to give them the answers they seek or a solution to a problem although those solutions or truths may be unwanted. Combine that with us being a mutable sign(our mind mutates, constantly changing), our obsession with knowledge and truth, the drive to get those things, and fearlessness, and you get someone who seems lke they are all over the place, but simply got their answers and moved on. This is especially prevalent in relationships.

In love and relationships, male Sags are incurable romantics. We are in love with love. We not only seek the love of our lives, but we also seek the truth about love and that person. Like Libras, we are born with a very high intelligence level and analytical skills. We're also very expresseive. Like Libras, we have a way with words and can be charming without even noticing we are. Because we are too trusting, our charm and expressiveness can get us into trouble by flirting without even noticing we are. We do have big hearts and love and care for people easily, which also can get us into trouble. We have an innate sense of justice and will fight till the end to get it. Like Libras, we can have a hard time expressing accurately our true feelings, except when we are in love or we are angry and have gone cold.

As for cheating, a lot of us do. I personally haven't done it but I know a lot of Sags who have...including my father. Personally, I am saddened by this. I can only explain it. Because of our relentless search for love and our love of women, we end up taking on two or three at a time. Another thing is we tend to get bored and fall out of love easily. This also happens because we tend to be a little fickle. Sound familiar lol? I was aware of my faults at an early age. But because I saw first hand what an irresponsible Sag does to a woman who loves him I made it my personal vow to never be that way...and I have achieved that goal.

I tell you all this to say just as I have not given up on Libras, don't give up on us. The Libra/Sag combination has the potential to be the strongest of ALL pairings. Why? Because of the deep spiritual connection, our understanding of one another, and our sense of love, justice, fairness, and values. It is about understanding that true love hides in the one place no one bothers to look...within you. It is a spiritual thing and you must live it and surrender to it. A Sag male is not perfect, but he is perfect for you. When he is evolved and settled, he will love you, treasure you, adore you with all of his heart and soul. He will accept you for who you are and find you beautiful. He will believe in you when you don't believe yourself. He will do everything in his power to make your dreams come true with incredible vision and focus and he will never leave your side. He will show you things, take you places, and reveal knowledge and truth. He will soothe your restless heart and bring peace and harmony. He will also, respectfully tell you when you are wrong. He won't be perfect, but who is. The question is whether you can accept the man in front of you and not let the perfect or more perfect get in the way of something beautiful and rare.

You must be one of those mature Sag men that I've heard so much about LOL. No but I completely agree with you. My sag and I were only 22 when we met and dealt with each other on and off until about 27, so clearly he was still in his prime. I do believe sag and libra a excellent match if both have lived our their youth and got a lot of the child's play out of their systems. Everything you described was all the potential that i saw in him and that's why i loved him so much. and the connection was definitely out of this world.
If the opportunity introduced itself again with another sag man i wouldn't be quick to right him off. But i would advise any libra woman in the situation to not hold back. We tend to not be very blunt in fear of hurting the ones we love feelings. if anybody can take it sag man can. be bold, fun, light, fiesty and confident. say what you mean and mean what you say and be the loving, charming, sexy woman we were bought in this world to be. they will love you for it 🙂

Blah blah. Waxing philosophical ...must be a drunk sag.

Weak pairing. To think it has potential to be strongest is either outright bs or lack of understanding for astrology.it can work with a lot of helpful synastry influences, otherwise weak chances.

Like...as people, to shoot the shit with. Watch them get drunk, stay standing, and speak better than most can sober. I like sag men most when they are a friend's boyfriend /partner. So, as people, but not for dating personally.

Dislike...anything involved in dating. Their looks. The way they are bossy and pushy, and still want their space too. The way they seem like they wouldn't miss me, could easily replace me with someone similar and not even notice the switch.

Terrible.

^lol.
I see where you're coming from with some observations, and from what I've witnessed on the outside...the shady variety of Sags are unwilling to abide by their set of expectations for partners(i.e. requests lover to remain exclusive while not exactly monogamous themselves, doesn't want s/o communicating with exes despite that they do so in secrecy).
Not trying to hate or claim most/all Sagittarius as guilty of the above offenses. Those genuinely ready for romantic involvement generally DON'T pull that sh!t. However, it's a matter of sufficient learning experience for those notorious irresponsible Sagittarians. For instance a couple of friends under this sign didn't seem to understand the extent of damage caused by careless mistakes until someone they'd fallen for was equally ruthless with their hearts--or worse.

The potential is there, in my book. Some simply haven't yet weighed the notion.

+1

I've had to have a few chats with my fellow Sags about this. Double standards is a big no no in my book and I simply accept people for who they are.
