Thanks, but no thanks

My Libra texted me tonight as I was leaving work and told me to hurry home because he cooked dinner.
Immediately, I'm like fuccckkkkk :/
While I appreciate the gesture - he's a terrible cook.
The last time he made dinner he grilled steaks - which he seasoned with some kind of mesquite seasoning for chicken. It was weird. He was laughing himself at how terrible they were. But I insisted it was fine because I didn't want him to feel bad. I even asked him what he used to season them, and he said "I don't know, some shit in the cabinet" .....I just can't.
Tonight he made turkey tacos. As soon as I walk in he's looking all cute with these puppy eyes and says "don't be mad, I burnt all the food." Normally I would pretend it was still good because he tried - but tonight I just couldn't...I had to tell him. I was laughing, like how did you even manage to make it this bad? Lol
Also, I swear he used every pan and cooking utensil we owned and there was ground turkey pieces EVERYWHERE.
Do I just appreciate that he tries - or do I seriously tell him DON'T, PLEASE

He tries to help me when I'm cooking - like come stir stuff - and ridicule how much seasoning I'm putting in.
Lol
He just doesn't belong in the kitchen, I'm sorry.
Like the house smells so bad right now like burnt meat. & he ruined my pretty new pans Sad
I don't have the heart to tell him

As a side note - you know a Sag loves you when they think to spare your feelings instead of just recklessly saying what they think
Mine likes bland food too. :\
He's Italian, I don't get it.
Ha, yeah he does like watching those cooking challenges on the food network...maybe he'll pick something up from there - like which seasoning to use on steak - not just "some shit in the cabinet" lol
& lol @ real onions...changed his life I bet

So instead of garlic and onion powder

Blasphemy!!!!
My Cancer Venus is outraged. Who the fuck uses powder when the real deal is so..real???
My brother does the same thing when he cooks- everything is dirty and everywhere and omg huge effing mess.
I don't get it.
Maybe it's because I tidy up and clean as I go... Working in a restaurant has programmed my brain to work quickly and efficiently. :/
LOL Kudos to him for trying but this would be one of my worst fears! One thing that can really traumatize me is bad food. That's one mental fuckery for me. Just thinking I'd have to eat something terrible makes me feel like cringing.
If he's open to it, you can teach him. There's a lot of infographics about food too and which seasonings go well with it. That's a good start.
This is one example of it.

That one's not too bad. I'm usually pretty good with salad ideas though since I have restaurant salads to give me ideas. The spices infographic was good because there are a lot that I'm not sure what to do with since I'm not really all that familiar with their flavors and what they're typically used for.

I can't cook either.
Last time I tried to make a soup, I went overboard trying to be "creative"...ended up with the entire damn kitchen in the pot. I think I had tomato sauce, coconut milk, taro, tofu, chicken hearts, olive oil, olives, spaghetti and eggplant all in there.
yea...took a bite...yes, a bite of "soup", because whatever it was, it sure the fuck wasn't soup by that point....and noped right out of the kitchen to buy some Luna bars for dinner.

Now, you see why Libras prefer eating in restaurants? It ain't cause they're trying to be a fancypants.

...I'm trying to understand why you thought adding some of those ingredients would help? Taro and coconut milk with tomato sauce? Jesus Christ haha.
My mom was a Libra and she could cook pretty well too. Her sugar cookies, mashed potatoes, and shepherd's pie = noms.
I had a Libra gal pal in high-school who wanted to make me breakfast after sleeping over the night before...
She fried the eggs in honey... not...recommended... for future reference anyway.
Lol Love her to bits, we had a laugh Big Grin
