Been a bit down in the dumps lately, and finding it hard to snap out of it. I've been running, tried meditating (just makes me cry) listening to music, writing my feelings down so I thought I might try reiki. Just wanted to know what the benefits are and if it helps dispel negative energy?

Thanks for your replies, I'm going to give it a go. There's a groupon offer at the mo, so it's discounted as well. I guess it's worth a try. I've always been sceptical about things like this too. Aura cleansing, psychic readings, horoscopes lol.
The best cure for me is probably a hard slap round my head to knock some sense into me (man troubles sigh).

No not tried mindfulness. Have downloaded an app called headspace which talks you through daily meditation sessions. Is mindfulness a form of meditation?

I've had reiki done and have had training to level 2 (will continue for more). It's wonderful! It's very relaxing and it got rid of a lupus rash I've had for 11 yrs that none of the meds drs gave me would take away.
