Found this article interesting ..
UNIVERSAL LAWS govern the Universe. They are basic principles of life and have been around since Creation. They are laws of the Divine Universe. Universal Laws apply to everyone, everywhere. They cannot be changed. They cannot be broken.
The Universal Law of Attraction (LOA) is the most powerful law in the universe. It is simple in concept but practice is necessary. But once you "get it", there is no looking back! It will be part of you forever. The simplest definition of this law is "like attracts like." Other definitions include:
You get what you put your energy and focus on, whether wanted or unwanted. The Law of Attraction is neutral.
All forms of matter and energy are attracted to that which is of a like vibration.
You are a living magnet.
Energy attracts like energy
"That which is like unto itself is drawn." Abraham-Hicks
The Law of Attraction is fun to learn and use because you are always watching, waiting expectantly for your desires to manifest. You can deliberately use this law to create your future.
Universal Law of Attraction
This universal law is working in your life right now, whether you are aware of it or not. You are attracting the people, situations, jobs and much more into your life. Once you are aware of this law and how it works, you can start to use it to deliberately attract what you want into your life.
How do you create your desires using the powerful law? There are just a few basic steps.
1. Ask
2. Source says YES!
3. Allow It
You must be very clear on exactly what your desire is. Focus on it. Give it all your positive energy. Visualize and raise your vibration about it. Feel good!
A major factor behind this Universal Law is the energy and vibrations of our emotions and feelings. Any thought you may have, when combined with emotion, vibrates out from you to the universe and will attract back what you want.
You can leave all the details to the universe. Let the Universe figure out the method of delivery, when you will receive it, etc. Now all you have to do is Allow It. Sounds easy, right? This can be the most difficult part to do. Be doubt-free. All you need to do is expect it. Act like you already have it. Be grateful.
That is it! You can always be expectant of good things, your desires. Feel good knowing your desire is on its way to you.
Always expect your desires. Expect miracles.

"Energy attracts like energy" ..how true is that! How many times has someone else's or our own mood cast a negative shadow on others, even on a subconscious level? We are living magnets who can either repel or attract. The choice is ours. I know when i walk into a room, there are definately people that do have a very postive glow/aura about them. You just know, and so like attracts like. You want to be with them, share their space.
I like to think of one of my favorite quotes when i read this: "Whatever you think you can do or believe you can do; begin it. Action has MAGIC, GRACE & POWER in it."
Everything truly begins with a thought ..
thx for the reminder, mystic.
in these tumultuous times layered with intrigues, it's helpful to remain steadfast in our practice of happiness
navigating smoothly with the aid of these simple and powerful tools

Thanks for starting this post Mystic_fish because this is something that I hold very dear to me. I have read the book and watched the dvd, "The Secret" and what's funny is that the principles have been in the Bible all this time as well! I definitely KNOW the law of attraction works both positively and negatively. I have always been pretty good at being an optimist but now I purposely focus my thoughts and feelings for good things and catch myself when they turn negative because I am seeing these principles work in my life. I have never been or felt so fulfilled as I have the last couple of years since I really put feet to my faith in this area. I am more confidant in myself and know that good things will happen to me! I know it does take work and a lot of people give up on it sometimes I believe at the brink of something good happening like scorpio_chic mentioned. But if you really work at changing the way you think on things it really will make a difference in the long run!
I will have to get that book by Deepak Chopra because it sounds really great as well. When I do find myself getting negative about circumstances then I either read scripture, watch my Secret dvd or read from the book and get myself back on track. I also receive daily emails from tut.com from "the Universe" and they are so uplifting and actually humorous, as well as from Bob Proctor who is a part of "The Secret".
Happy thoughts and feelings to all of you and this is well worth checking into, I assure you!!!

You're both very welcome Stpatrickspisces & -> 3 >< -< ; i like your views and outlook on life! *i've yet to read Deepak or 7 Laws of Success. I remember Oprah mentioning in so many words, "..to appreciate something/someone every single day, because there really is "SO" much to be thankful for."
Just more positive energy that really can magnify, not only for yourself, but for others, in return. Reminds me, i was just reading Jerry Seinfeld; wow he is actually funnier in print! Anyway, his father was a comic genius who worked in the sign/sein making business. =) He told him if you have a gift, share it, because that's what gifts are for. And the rest of course, is history. What would we do without humour or being able to laugh at yourself and life..LOL
Sending positive thoughts & happiest wishes, too..

Here is an example of the emails I get from tut.com. I like to get them because a lot of time they are very humorous but with serious truth behind it!
Patricia, the trick is learning to maintain an unwavering focus upon your desired end result, your completed dream, the "finish line," without insisting upon, or even contemplating, its means of attainment, no matter how logical, obvious, or tempting it may seem.
Tallyho,
The Universe
Bellabullbeautiful: That is true because all of these principles have been in the Bible all this time! It was no secret if you read the Word because there it was in black and white. "Blessing and cursing is in the power of the tongue", "Whatsoever a man believeth in his heart, so is he.", "We believe and therefore we speak.", "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen." and so many more!
It's a true law that does exist!

Here is my take on the "law of attraction"
First of all, we can rule out that this is a perfect rule in the first place because bad things happen to good people, good things happen to bad people, sometimes good people believe that something is going to benefit them and instead harms them, and sometimes people believe that something is going to harm them but ends up helping them. So obviously intentions aren't always going to attract what you intend.
Second of all, we are social beings who are able to understand a lot more about a person's mood and desires than we are consciously aware. We are able to instinctively make educated guessing about people based on their body language, the context we are in, and the tones of their voice. This is why people are able to sometimes get a "feeling" that someone is harmful even if they have no real conscious reason to consider. So by this own reasoning, we can conclude that the reason we seem to notice good things happening when we are in good moods and giving out the "good" vibes is because A) Bias. We are probably more prone to notice the good in our lives when we are in good moods and B) because our own body language and feelings can impact other people and make them more receptive to our wishes and more in-tune with our own moods, so they feel more benevolent and happy, and C) coincidence, sometimes random good or bad things just happen at the right time.
I don't believe the law of attraction is some sort of metaphysical spiritual law of the universe, but rather an imperfect byproduct of our own moods and body language, and how those moods and body-language impacts other people at a personal level.

You attract others to you when you want nothing of them.

I use the law of attraction all the time knowingly, I've studied for a few years and I've attracted a good amount of things, money being one of them. I totally agree with the article mystic.
I think the hardest part for me has been focusing on the good even when the bad is sitting smack dab in my face, I've mastered that part some but still needs work.
This seems weird but I've prayed, more like being thankful, saying a prayer of thanks many times, I did this by chance, I did not intend on winning, usually I lose LOL.
I was standing in line, started to say a prayer affirmation and I zoned out during the prayer as I was waiting I kept saying the same thing over and over and over again in my head really fast and when I bought my ticket it was a winner and I did the same thing several times and this could not be a coincidence because I NEVER ever won before. I've won large sums of money doing that. It's like once you get on a winning frequency everything else falls into place naturally.
