It's a whole lot of process, for some quick others slow. Seemingly chaotic, unexplainable, far from logic or conceptual understanding. Natural cleansing will take place within your body, you might feel aches, emotional frustration, psychic skills start to open, conscious dreams, visions. Your perception changes, you start to have connection with everyone and everything on a deeper .

Mine started with a mental breakdown 3 yrs ago, to recover from that found spirituality but I had no idea about awakening back then. There is always a triggering event prior to spiritual awakening. (rarely just happens out of blue to some people)

I had a near death experience
A near death experience is different from a spiritual awakening in my opinion but I believe it plays a huge role in having a spiritual awakening.

I also had a near death experience and it has definitely changed my life.

It awakened me to everything including a huge reserve of love I didn't know I had

After it happend and I came back to life, I felt the "hand of God" on my head....it was the biggest spiritual awakening i ever had

Congratulations!! ๐Ÿ™‚

My near death experience was a car accident, I was hit by an 18wheeler truck, thank God I'm alive and well. no fractures but some pain remains.

spiritual wise, it has made me stronger and more open to search and find inner peace and help others.

How do you define spiritual awakening?

Or what does it mean to you?
This is what I would like to hear.

Is hard for me to explain this as if I'm answering a question. I feel this and I feel that it means a lot to me because it makes me feel in peace, lifted and with the need to help others. This is something that has been growing inside of me and is like a puzzle where every piece you get has a place where it falls together with others to form a bigger picture.

The people you meet, the things you read, what you hear, what your inner voice tells you to search for, it all comes to a point where you put all the pieces together and realize that "that" is your calling or your purpose. Then you immediately want to start somewhere and from there it all flows, your actions, your words, everything else has a different meaning and is all guided by what life presents to you, I believe the only way to actually see what you have in front of you is by opening your mind and elevating your consciousness to be able to understand what is the meaning of it all.

Why are you presented with these opportunities? sometimes we aren't ready for it and let them go since we don't know what it means or how to approach the situation.

That's why I like to prepare myself to be able to see and understand what is given to me.

I hope that works ๐Ÿ™‚

it was a gradual process that came about through adjusting to the deaths of some people close to me when i was younger....expecting the experience of grief to go a certain way and then being totally surprised by my feelings and my reactions. it felt spiritual when i realized i inherently understood some principles about death that my (more emotionally experienced) family members still grappled with. undergoing that measure of grief made me aware of a "soul" feeling.. seems like a trait of spirituality is how when you are awakened to it it doesn't feel jarring, it feels inherent, it was always there but was overlooked. with time, the awareness i gleaned from this transition from life into death applied itself into all aspects of my life and made things seem more connected and "flowing" like OP described.

i think spiritual awakening triggered by grief is a pretty common initiation into spiritual stuff for most people. it's nice to think of it as a gift- when i was young, i was so scared of the feelings i'd have to confront when i lost people i loved, and i was surprised when my brain/the universe gave me this beautiful way to process the pain that made sense of a lot of the questions that death left behind.

I had a spiritual awakening when me and my brother made a friend who liked witch craft, he was apparently in a coven before us, he would call us up in the middle of the night and we would meet him in the cemetery, forest or at his house and we would just practice witch craft.....

At the time I was really open to anything really and it was exciting and fun at first and then my third eye opened and I was exposed to things I wasn't used to and it frightened me, synchronicites were very common I felt like I had no control over it. We were conjuring spirits and eventually got into the dark side of things like the Goetia (lesser key of Solomon) and shit, we studied Alistair Crowley and the order of the golden dawn....

We were very much like the girls from the craft lol (watching horror movies was something we always did in between) we would do rituals, psychic tests, spells and shit....our friend was so power hungry by the end of it and we eventually stopped because our house got haunted ....

There were some awesome experiences we had though, when we mediated in the forest on a bride going over a stream at night, we were in a circle of candles and insence sticks and while we chanted our eyes were closed and when we opened our eyes we were surrounded by silk worms on their threads dangling at eye level.

I also kind of predicted my brothers death....I did a divination spell and asked if I should move to Perth with my brother or move to Melbourne and the smoke told me to move to Melbourne because I'd be more stable there '.

I've always been on the lookout for spiritual hidden knowledge, text thaumaturgical and have been occult inclined in the past but around this time when I was practicing witch craft that I realised this shit was real .

Now days I very rarely practice it, I realise I don't want to know how things unfold through divination. I also got sick of experiencing psychic attack when we evoke spirits and the hauntings. Now days Im into sigil magick, very interesting stuff, a lot of people these days know it as "the gift" the gimmick best selling book that helped a lot of people.....Sigil magick is the best way to get what you want because you don't need to bargain with a demon

A part of that sounds very similar to what Robert Greene described in Mastery.

Thank you for sharing. I'm interested to hear because I struggle (or simple never spent enough time) trying to find the words to describe what it means to me.

I will have to read that. Like I said words just flow is something hard to describe, only feel.

For me writing works best because I'm better at writing down my feelings, but maybe you will be able to describe it in a different way.

It's not a walk in the park, this much I do know! It's messy, unpredictable and at times quite emotionally painful. However the plus side is, that you do gain clarity on a lot of things that have caused problems in the past.

I've always been spiritual, but the actual "awakening" process started 8 years ago after a very painful breakup with, what is known as a karmic partner. My real "wake the fuck up!" Started this year when I met my twin flame/divine partner. Again NOT for the faint of heart.

I wouldn't change it for the world, I'm grateful for my journey. However I wouldn't wish it on anyone as it's not all fairies and rainbows.

The twin flame dynamism accelaretes everything more with the kundalini awakening. It's not going to be sugarcoated either. The most painful emotions and the fastest healings come up once your twin enters the scene. Your soul then starts to be washed out properly. You will heal whatever is in the basket, your whole ancestrial lineage, your egoic self, each other. It's epic. My twin flame gives me the f* mirror which I sometimes forget that is my reflection. ๐Ÿ™‚

I had quite an extreme experience which was triggered by meditation, send me to the shrink. No idea what drives me to do this stuff, I created my own meditation technique and everything. Now I only meditate under the supervision of a trained practitioner, a shaman. He helps me to keep everything in check and protects me from all those undesirable "side effects".

My calling is whatever I feel like doing, the more I go with my instincts the better. I always write all the stuff that I envision, dream, comes to me all of a sudden.. all my archives are private.

My awakening was triggered by my ex, who was a karmic lover(some kinda tf)... possibly the most karmic one in my life anyways... we had several lifetimes together since middle ages..

so when I met him, immediately I felt high anxiety, high strung nerves, adrenaline rushes every time he'd make a move or be sweet.. It felt like the purest love on cloud 9,which i did love him, but that was a karmic magnet forcing me to go through this... when we split, I felt like I've fallen off the face of the earth and like I was plummeting to my death.. dark night of the soul..

Hard to describe but I wanted to kill myself just to match how empty and sad I felt inside... then I started to feel vibration points on my body, chills and heat signaling my spirit guides, dreams and visons in clarity etc etc.. so all the while I'm depressed as shit.. but over the next full year it got better, and instead of putting all of that energy on him it went to myself, and my spirtual gifts and practice

Apparently I'm my current love's spiritual trigger, however our karmic history isn't as intense and was mostly pleasant so the same situations won't be as extreme.. his stomach though is his pre symptoms.. as usual there needs to be a big event to actually set it off.. I wonder what it will be, only hope it's nothing negative

I was on my hospital bed about to die... a fever no doctor could break for over 2 months... I had a lot of time to think process and found myself... something clicked. and I said if I ever get out of here I would never allow anyone to stop me from following my path... since then... I haven't given a damn my drive is so high... if anyone in my way I see through them and keep going... since then I keep learning and keep growing my mind won't shut off and I am one with myself..

Because of this though, I've lost a lot of friends mainly the ones that don't want to believe you've changed and no longer the same person they knew or the ones still asleep.. but I keep accomplishing things and finding myself deeper and deeper each time. Catch 22.

I think spiritual awakening is an ongoing process. It's never really over as long as we are experiencing life. There are times when we are more in tune with "Spirit", more connected to other people, more perceptive of and/or inclined towards spiritual experiences.

I was agnostic most of high school then got into Buddhism and Hinduism. One of my real passions is dreaming, though. My first lucid dream I ever had ended with the dream scene fading out to blackness and then a great big eye appeared, filling all of the black space. I took this as a representation of my third eye opening, as the pineal gland/melatonin is a necessary component for sleep and dreaming.

I've also had other experiences, primarily revolving around a lover, that have given me major insights into my life. Some of them sort of involve "ego death" experiences, for example, she had stopped talking to me for many months and one time at the end of the school semester I tried repairing our relationship but she still rejected me. A few days later I am arrested for marijuana possession. Then a few days after that I go to volunteer for a university graduate student's research, and the professor I talk to there offers me a job as a research assistant out of the blue. I wonder about why that was the time I got arrested, because the girl always hated that I smoked weed. It's like I died and was given a new opportunity to start fresh.
