an ex from ten years ago..

so the other day one of the exes came upon my mind whilst I was posting up stuff on my fb..
I became curious as to how he'd been faring.. we have lost contact some time after he went back to his country.. he was my classmate.. was quite popular amongst girls in class, because, I guessed, he was the youngest (back then he was 15, I was 19) and quite smart and nice..I thought he was just a cutie, but too young.. even younger than my little brother
one of the girls wanted to ask him out, but she was too shy or proud to do that..but somehow they happened to go check out the city on some weekend, not a date, but just hanging out the two of them.. but then the girl got too intimidated(? my guess..) and called it off at the last minute.. so now the boy were all left alone lol and well, I was an outside of the class so I was usually by myself, just cruising on campus.. on that friday he came up to me after class and asked if I wanted to go to the city with him..again, not quite like a date, but just hanging out as friends.. I thought why not? since I hadn't checked out the city myself, so I said yes..
so the weekend came and we went to the city together.. he was very gentle and yet playful, just like a kid at his age.. he was very tall (like 1.88m.. I felt like a midget next to him, being about 1.55m lol) despite the baby face of his lol.. we planned to check places in the city till late afternoon, but we had just so much fun..and when we got back to the down again, it was near midnight lol .. despite me being older than him, he was a leader of the two of us lol.. and he was good at that..a very reliable guy
after that weekend we just happened to hang out lots outside class..just to become boy and girl friends the next week lol .. he called me my girl when we were at the library doing silly stuff on computers and I was like 'what did you just call me? lol' ..and he asked me to be his girlfriend
we had so much fun together..guess, it was because I was just like a kid lol .. we went to see musicals, parks, checked out new restaurants and spots..

but then the time for him to go back to his country was coming..he said he was going to invite me over his country and would love me for ever..but I knew it would not last much..not because I did not believe him, but he was so young..so much was going to happen to him..as to me..
he looked upset the day before of his departure..I went to his place and told him 'don't be..we've still one more day - and are you going to waste it by brooding?
don't - let us have good time..and good memories..' ..he said he was upset because he was too young and could not stay here with me, but had to leave.. I enlightened him up..by my chatterbox lol well..that's what a gem is known for being good at 
he tried not to cry on our last day together..I was seeing him to the airport..and on the way there, he couldn't help, and started crying..
I had to comfort him..I cried, too (ah..sappy? but couldn't help!)
we kept in touch for some while after he went back to his country..but as I had predicted, he soon became busy with his life over there..new school for me, new friends, many a new things..and the same was for me..I applied for a fashion school..
so I found him on fb..sent out a friend request..and now we are fb friends
he got married just last year he told me..congratulations!
now he's working and studying (sounds like me? lol) in order to get a phd..
we chatted on fb..he is now more reserved than before once as I remembered him by.. people change over time..I'm sure he finds me different from ten years ago
maybe some day I will travel to his country .. he said he'd show me around his city..I said I'd do the same if he happens to visit my country, too
it's just so surprising, a bit weird, yet exciting to reunite with someone from a long time ago..

this memory always brings smiles on my face..because, well..a youth.. we both were young and thing were so..youthful..beautiful.. innocent & bright as stars.. even though we had to say good byes to each other..

He is working abroad to get his phd. Anyways so we met -me, another old girl friend, him and his twin, so it was a bit like a double date, although it wasn't. He was so nice to me. And we were sitting so close to each other and drinking from the same cocktail We used to laugh a lot together at silly things and we are still the same lol. I felt so happy, I had missed him so much and I know he felt similar things.
So now we have been e-mailing some funny stuff back and forth since then because we both don't have fb Thing is I still love him and we still have the same chemistry but it would be kind of weird and impossible to date again. Although I love the fact that we are in touch !

yes, you're right..it felt like a fairytale..
so so youthful.. like you know, when you dated you were teen..it's different from when you date your are twenties.. I think things will feel different again & too, once I become thirties..forties..and go on..one thing made me a bit hesitate in contacting him..was well..sometimes our old memories are better left be..sometimes we sort of idealize and beautify up our old memories..not that we intentionally do so, but time does that to people..
and as much as I cherish the old memories..I was as much as worried.. 'what about..the possibility of being disappointed? now things are too different from before & maybe this reunion even wash away all good old memories..'
but then again..things change, people change..either for good or bad..we often time wish things could & would stay the same..but most of the time, they do not.. and if it happens to come down to a disappointment..then well, that's another facet of life..
fortunately for me, I find him as nice & kind as he once was..things are not the same and will not be the same as they once were (because I don't have feelings for him -romantic feelings- and he's met someone for him..and even if he were single, we wouldn't be boy & girlfriends again
), but still nice and good..in a new, different way.. and this is a surprise..surprise of this reunion, I think..I'm glad to hear that you and your ex reunited again & had a good time
