Are you a better friend?

I often wish that I could have friends just like me. Granted I like a lot of time to myself,
and I won't call everyday, but I'm there when it counts. I remember b-days and other special events
in my friend's lives.
I listen to their problems and try not to judge. When I need to listen I do, when my advice is
asked for I give it--no problem. I don't get mad over stupid shit and if we do get into an
altercation I'm over it and it's like nothing ever happened.
If I'm called in the middle of the night I'm there. My friends, the few I have,
can always count on me. I'm a pretty good friend. However, I'm never treated the same way
I treat my friends. Don't get me wrong, I have a pretty small circle and they are decent
people. I just don't think I can count on them as they can me. So I don't ask for
anything--ever. In the next hour or so, in true Gem fashion, I won't even care about this.

and a damn good vent i might add. ^^^ the quote above relates fully to me. tho there not friends but more like family members. i'm always there for them day or night. but in return, their never there for me in times of crisis. and that's f**ked up.click to expand
TBC sad huh? Oh and don't get me started about my family--same thing only worse. But as I said I was just venting. From time to time this thought enters my head; I mull it over for a few minutes and then carry on as usual. Life is good!
