To be polite. Societal pressure. Habit. To make someone jealous. Because they like you. Because they hate you (petty). Because of fear of rejection. People pleasing. I find most people treat others with the "Golden Rule" i.e. treat others as you want to be treated. When really they should be treating others as THEY want to be treated. And so some people I think get in habit of starting pointless convos because deep down they would rather chit chat bull shit than be ignored, so essentially treating you with the same respect THEY would want. All in all not taking in to account being receptive to your needs until it's too late and they are selfish realizing they don't want to be receptive to your needs so they end said convo.

Anxiety? Different levels of social inadequacy can make people come off as a little crazy because entering a conversation can be stressful

If I'm being anxious at that moment, I'll sometimes talk too much to appear a communicative person and then excuse myself (to have the "y r u like this" moment) and I might come back to you later calmer. "Trying too hard" situation to put it more explicitly.

Another possible answer is that people are drunk and hyperactive. Makes them want to get to know everyone and they can't stand still. If that were the case, one could also say you just weren't drunk enough 😄

Why do people make an excuse so that they can leave a conversation even if it's one that they are mostly dictating?

I don't get it.

If you are doing most of the talking , then why engage in the first place and continue engaging.

Why don't you just get over it right there right then and go get a drink and pour it over their head and be thrown out?

That will show them!!!

Well...that will show YOU how to party and not be party pisser!

Here...🍷
