Biggie or Pac?

You are on page out of 2 | Reverse Order
This one is for the rap lovers. Who had the best lyrics between the two? Post a video or the lyrics.
I love 2 pac, biggie is not doing it for me visually lol, but I think he was great too.
"Biggie, biggie can't you see? Sometimes your words just hypnotise me" and thats the only thing that hypnotises me about him, his words. Btw, has anybody seen how scary lil kim looks these days? She reminds me of a blowfish or a self-raising dough- too much botox i bet.
Ok, same script, different cast. I just remembered something someone in here wrote, forgot which thread or forum. Anyways she said, yes it was a she i remember, well she said she dumped a guy for playing Lil Wayne on his car. I was like, ok wow. To me music is music, but there are some songs and lyrics that make me even cringe, wouldnt dump someone over it thou, i just would not appreciate being called a hoe..that'll get him dumped for suresmile
ok here's a thing, i'll write a few lyrics from two songs & tell me what you think.
Dont trip- Trina
my niggas jump around
girls jump on that dick
and ladies
show em yo shit
a lil hip, a lil thigh
more pressure for the eye
and the more a nigga try
*those few lines are NOT in correct order, just the parts i wante to send my point home. This is a female, right, so as a guy what do you think about women when you hear something like that & ladies how do you feel about lyrics like that as a woman?*
Every girl- Lil Wayne
I like a long haired thick red bone
open up her legs then filet mignon that p...
Ima get in and out on that p...
If she lets me in im own that p...
*what i would like to know here is the same Qs as above, plus, do you think guys see us as objects based on lyrics (like the Trina ones) sang by other females?*
just curious smile
Okay, my questions werent about the guys who dont objectify, but those who do. And like you said, some do it to emulate whatever their favourite artist is saying, but dont you think that female rap artists also add fuel to fire by representing women as gold digging horny sluts? Lets face it, there's a growing amount of young people into hiphop culture & most of them emulate how these rap stars act, talk & dress, so we cant surely say they wont also follow the lyrics of their favourite songs by degrading the women they meet in everyday world. Plus, i disagree that songs by kim & trina are about empowerment of any kind. Most are gross & are about getting stuff from guys using sex, looks etc. Nothing empowering about that. Anyways thanks for the reply & you made some interesting points smile
One last question to you, you said a guy objectifies women because thats who he is, but dont you think a behavior like that is learnt somewhere? The media being the most influencial medium of all. I dont believe that people are born bad, either badness was learnt at home or a place that the individual is mostly exposed to. Plus not all of us are smart enough to just follow our own paths, do our own thing etc. Most people look up to other people on how to get dressed (fashion trends), how to talk etc, which is some people use popular slang words. I could go on, but ill stop there lol.

IT does. I mean when I hear females saying "Im the baddest bytch" "your hos aint fckin with my hos bytch" etc referring to fellow women like that, what am I to think? Ima call you a hieux LOL treat you like one too.
Also a lot of women talk big talk like ni99as ain't shyt this and that, and then when I get em behind closed doors I have them tonging my balls and doing splits and stuff. So I think on many levels women psyching themselves into false pretenses on top of society telling us men certain things about women.

I dont because Im grown and its just entertainment. What rappers say to sell and reality are 2 different things. I try to filter what i seriously consider regarding lyrics. Filter in the positive, beneficial part and disregard the nonsense. But still listen to it if it sounds good.

lol @ you're grown. I've seen a lot of 'grown' people pretending to be other people just because the said people are 'cool' to the individual. But, you're right thou, it does need a certain level of maturity so that you dont take things too literally. Anyways, it was just curiosity on my part..nothing less or more.

@Watercup. I see your point about Trina and Lil Kim. But in some strange way I think it makes them feel empowered because they are able to use their "sexiness" to make money. And let's be honest, sex sells. Open up a thread about sex on dxpnet and watch that thing blow up to 10 pages in about 2 hours. LOL. I personally don't listen to Trina so I don't know her lyrics well, and I wouldn't be suprised if they were more nasty than empowering. Lil Kim's lyrics can be whorish as well. But there are certain women *cough "gold diggers", *cough jump offs, *cough chickenheads, who identify with their persona. Which is why I try not to judge them, because they wouldn't be where they are if they didn't have a fan base that identified with them. But then you got female rappers like Eve who don't rap about just their sexual prowess..where is she by the way? Then you got rappers like Lil Wayne bragging about how many women he sleeps with, which does influence teenage boys. Kids are definitely having sex younger, and boys in particular are teased for not being promiscuous, or if they are too relationship oriented. Despite this, some kids are able to rise above those peer pressures.
I haven't a clue as how to save those who are followers, I've always been kind of a rebel myself. I don't think people are born bad either, yes the media is influential, as is culture, environment, ethnicity, etc. As for the youth, it's up to their parents to control what they listen to at home, and shape who they become. I grew up in a rough neighborhood and could write a few rap songs myself, and hip hop was the dominant music genre in my neighborhood. We moved when I hit my teens, but it still shaped me in some way. I was fortunate to have two very strict parents who made sure I carried my behind to school, and did not spare the rod. From a young age I was always very intellectually curious, and that was encouraged by my family. I had girlfriends who were skipping school, getting high, having sex at 12, I stayed focused, went to college and got my degree. What made me different. How did I escape peer pressure, buck the system, ignore media influences? Was it nature or nurture? I'm still not sure...

i like your post very much and i agree with most of it. Btw, eve is my favourite lol. I just wanted to hear others thoughts on this & get a few Ooos of the mind, nothing much. Thanks

I agree with the Diddy comment. It would be if Biggie got out on his own an developed his natural talent, whereas, Pac was pretty on his own the whole time.

Ok, so I may be just a lil old white girl, but thanks to my aqua brother who is very openminded, I learned about these 2 artists and listened to their music, watched documentaries about them, etc...
My fave 2 songs from 2Pac are :California Love which was very popular in euro clubs in 90ies and I have tons of fun memories associated with it. And also, DEAR MAMA, which is making me cry right now because I am listening right nowSad
My bro says his best song is "shed so many tears"!
Also, 2 pac shakur is my fellow Gem, so I got lots of love for him. It is truly heartbreaking how and when his life ended...
But my brother told me not to worry, that he still may be alive somewhere, just got tired of fame. Do you guys think this might be true??

Kanye's I don't give a f*ck attitude definitely reminds me of Pac. Maybe its a gemini thing. Whatever Ye's personal issues are, love his music. Seems like there's a Kanye song that fits every treetrunked up moment in my life recently. "It all falls down" "Can't tell me nothing" LOL."Power"

Welcome to 2000, when this question would have still mattered. Both of these guys died over 15 years ago a piece.

With that said, on a more technical level, Biggie was far better than Pac. Biggie just had better flow and wordlplay, that is no deniable. Pac music was of course more personal and emotional. But in terms of being a more technical wordsmith, Biggie was far beyond 2Pac

maybe because they're humans? I mean really, things like death really have no caste or whatever, its saddening when ANY person passes away. Plus, I remember we had lost a few students that year and maybe a previous year, and they didn't show or honor a lot of them. So, it was especially kind of like, you honor some rapper, but you don't honor an actual students? Where's the priorities?

I love 2 pac, biggie is not doing it for me visually lol, but I think he was great too.

Sorry but I am going to be impartial since the male figure does not bring any reaction out of my loins ...
2pac hands down was the greater rapper...by far
What he rapped about was far more important... and more personal.
I used to only like Rock'n'Roll as a kid/teenager but as I've gotten older I have learned to love and appreciate all genres of music that is done well. LOL, I even can appreciate country music these days which back then would be like a cardinal sin as far as I was concerned haha. Anyways, I think Both 2Pac and Naz are some the best in the department of lyrics that are worth listening to when it comes to rap. EmnEm is a talented rapper as well I can't say I always like what he has to talk about though.
TUPAC!
I am his biggest fan. My synastry with Tupac is the best synastry I have ever seen.
