Why do you block people?? Aren't you open enough to others opinions or can't you overlook their comments if you don't agree or like them?

Do other DXPers effect you that much that you seriously can't do one or both of these?

I've had issues with people here, I simple chose not to register them, or let their comments effect me.

But it is childish to see people BACKSTABBING each other through others post because someone they have blocked has been highlighted!

I might be old and wise but seriously there are a lot of children on this site and most of them are in their 30's or close to it!

Were you blocked by anyone in particular, or is this just a general rant?

General rant Wynter, I have been blocked I believe because someone hasn't liked my opinion but it doesn't bother me. A lot of people come for advice but only want to hear why they want to hear.

It's when you are reading threads and then all of a sudden you realise a post is missing because someone is referencing someone else's comment or right smack int he middle of it they start backstabbing someone that can't respond or threads are created and the person it's about can't respond. **shakes head** out of school!

And no DG, I haven't experienced that. I have seen where some posters continually post vids and pics...do I read, No. And if someone purposly attacks me, I'll argue/defend a bit but it;s not long before I realise that they are purely trying to bully or pick a fight and I don't respond.

You know happy people live longer and age better than angry people 😛 (general comment, not directed at anyone)

Ah 🙂 ok sweethearts 🙂

As for your question- I think the blockers that block because they don't want to read a lot of tripe from users they don't interact with worked fairly well under the old system - block, then forget about the blockee.

Except that was ruined by a few who couldn't resist logging back in - block, then read the blockees shit anyway and make a big stink about it.

This new way certainly generates more complaints than the old. And I think that's why it's used - to antagonize the enemy.

Why do you block people?? !

In the past, it was because I had been harrassed via PM by two users. Most recently, it was because the user's comments were making me sad more than anything.

Yes. However, it's not always about that. And even if this is the issue for some, well, perhaps having a button that hides others' comments makes ignoring that much easier. Whatever floats your boat is what I support. As long as no one is being hurt.

For the most part, no. If that were the case, I would've taken the individual off block by now, given all the stink folks make about blocking vs not blocking. Ultimately, it is a feature that is available to be used at the discretion of the user. Those who don't like it don't have to use it. And those who don't like other people using it are welcome to start a petition against the block feature, as Dazed has demonstrated to be so effective.

I guess wynter doesn't understand you can still see nested quotes. I wonder if she even knows what that means?

Well, that is true - I had forgotten about that 😛 And I used to bitch about it too! lol
