Ohhh, cute bungalow! Based on the darker colors in the palette you posted I would do something along these lines....

What a neat site! I was looking at the edible color palettes and became hungry 😄

Wynter, I LOVE that site! Talk about an artist's dream on color inspiration! ~giddy dance~

Had a friend out in Louisiana who's neighbor and friend was painting a lovely old house and the color she picked was cute but too light/bright. I quickly pulled up a deeper/darker/dustier version of that color plus the accents (from the design seeds site) and texted the color palettes to her and she passed them on to her friend. She choose one of the palettes and it looks fantastic on the house.

i have a lamp like that lol. 🙂

I bought one for the Aries's birthday a couple of years back. He was thrilled.

I swear that man has impeccable taste. Puts me to shame.

it really is an eyecatcher. they have them with a lovely yellow glass too....

but i could not pay for an original one yellow or green - so i found a pretty good compromise for MUCH less $ pfffffft.

OMFG the price for the originals!!!

I bought it off ebay.

One thing I liked is how the light looks on pages..I was studying for my finals then and the pages looked different in that light than in any other light. Must've been the lightbulb but still.

I was feeling like Agatha Christie.

Oh, it's a chair ... I love the green chair.

it's an old chair from ikea i bought back in 2000 - i just use it as a side table now and for some reason i could never part with it lol.

glad you chose green for your house! 🙂

@damnata - wtf have you been smoking lol?! the chair is green - the hue of the light is a normal yellowish colour it does not colour objects. you crack me up. 😄

Don't remove the shutters!!! I think most don't have them because it's an added expense and they were cutting corners. Unless the house is uber modernistic in design most houses look fantastic with shutters. I personally love them on houses...it adds charm and character and is a great way to throw in a splash of color or to break up the monotony of the facades. I personally think windows look like sad, empty eyes without shutters framing them. It would be like losing all of your eyelashes. My vote: keep the lovely shutters. 🙂

I'm so glad the shutters are still in style because I'd hate to pull them off. Actually, the shutters are only along the front ... the windows are bare otherwise.

The house sits back in the woods, only visible from the road during winter .... nobody really sees the house unless they are visiting. But, still, I want it to look nice and it's coat all around is looking pretty shabby.

I like the Salisbury Green, also. It blows that the houses next door are both yellow.

I think it all comes down to personal preferences, any color can look nice, you just need to adjust the details to make it look great. I also like the butterscotch color....

But I'd bring the shade down a few notches...

And for shutters, idk I've always been partial to black or dark colors, gives it a very classic feel imo. Idk why but it makes me feel like the house is saying "hey someone important is living inside me bitches!"

Here's a house painted in Tate Olive, from the list.

another thing .... when looking at houses online for color ideas, I notice that most don't have shutters. Are shutters out? not in style ? Should I remove my shutters ... or, do houses look ok with them still?

I like it...it looks kind of bluish grey more than green, but those bricks should be redder.

I agree with MoonArtist about the shutters as well 🙂

mmmm No.
that particular color, on that particular house, looks particularly boring to me.
