I've seen that face when baby eats pickle too. Doesn't stop little one from wanting the pickle, just that 'oooo sour' reaction. Not cruel, exploration and reaction.

If you had clipped the last part of the video, where the kid reaches for the lemon laying on the table, then you might have an argument.
As it stands, there is no debate .... if I were you, I'd edit that part, close this thread down, then open another one of the same nature.

not reaching for the lemon, rather smiling then eyeballing it laying on the table.

Young babies aren't partial to sour or bitter flavors or anything. But yeah, the baby is just curious.

I think it's so cute. I agree with Everevolving's if they were forcing the lemon down her throat or tricking her into swallowing boiling water or something like that then that's an issue of cruelty. Even if you edited the last piece as p-angel suggested the baby still looks like she is having fun with the lemon. I saw some other clip on the internet where the mother was making her 5yr old have her brows waxed for a beauty pageant and I thought that was cruelty.

LOL.. it's a lemon... the kid giggled and laughed (man, I love baby giggles) and went back for more. That baby has good enough motor skills to move her head around.. so if she wasn't actually enjoying the sour lemon, she'd have turned away, grimaced, and cried if pushed or forced. And THAT would have been cruel. Now.. if this were a parent putting some hot sauce on baby's tongue to watch the kid's look of shock and surprise before the frantic crying started.. yeahno.
Incidentally, my Mom told me she potty trained me at 14, 15 months old.. using sour pickles. Cookies or crackers -- they go too fast, kid doesn't have time to do the deed. Now.. going to town on a pickle with my few tiny teeth? That took me awhile.. squishy faces and giggles and all.. and plenty of time for me to do my thing and watch my Mom cheer and whoops and go crazy, setting off more giggles. I wanted pickles, so I would sit on my potty and ask for one LOL To this day, I love sour things like lemon and grapefruit.. esp with a little salt. And if I want to buy a special treat for my 15 year old son, I buy him a lemon, no joke. Crazy kid lol
