Posted by AerialViewNo, not really. Growth is growth. If a person brings something to your attention then cool beans. I'm just curious what everyone has to say about it
Does not really matter which one as long as it's the TRUTH ?
Posted by CuddleBug88The best way is to get a mentor that you trust. If you rely on the "multiple people" approach you are vulnerable to cliques and mob mentality.
So I've always been the type of person who enjoys talking to others and seeing if there's things that I need to work on, as a human being. Growth in short.
My question for you peeps is if you'd rather hear some hard "truths' (what multiple people say you need to work on, on a basic, human nature level)...or a sugar-coated "truth"?
This isn't a thread to bash others so PLEASE do not do that. Be a human being, have feelings. It's simply a discussion on what people prefer. If you prefer a different route please share and enlighten us!![]()

Posted by tizianiSo you're just recepetive to any type of critique/growth/whatever you wanna call it?
No preference for me either, based on experience. What gets better results with me was when it was well timed.
Posted by rabidtalkerSo.. would u say that a person can receive that from one person, or multiple people? Say you have a bestie saying one thing, consistently and multiple other good friends saying completely different things to you. You just take it all in and intuititively align with one or the other, etc?Posted by CuddleBug88You need both, sometimes you need a shove in the right direction and sometimes you just need support.Posted by rabidtalkerBut, would u rather have that mentor tell you straight-up or sugar-coat it?Posted by CuddleBug88The best way is to get a mentor that you trust. Posted by TeenaTaking everything with a grain of salt is like, a lifesaver. You can't take someone else's word as absolute truth...can you? I just think that taking it into consideration is something decent human beings do...idk, I'm prob too nice sometimes lol.
I don't take it seriously either way tbh??
Posted by CuddleBug88Oh woah! So people who don't take it into consideration are indecent?? It's not even about being nice. I don't disagree with them outright either. I just can't take someone who thinks they know me better than I know myself seriously. I'm very adaptable n flexible in general...n if something about me doesn't change, I chose it. Talking about personality that is. I don't even remember someone ever suggesting anything to me in that regard...or maybe like I said I didn't take it seriously enough to remember. There are times when I discuss me with my friend(s). They don't tell me what I am or what I need to work on but they just sometimes put it in a better way than I can think of. That I'll agree with...moreso coz they know me. If it's relating to work or something like that n if I feel I need to work on it, I will.Posted by TeenaTaking everything with a grain of salt is like, a lifesaver. Posted by Arielle83I'm not talkin about here...talking about in general. Just curious about others
You can't grow unless you know.
People come here to vent, but they pretend they're above the whine and think they're looking for advice.
When the comments are blunt or far from sugar coated, but real, out comes the weak defense moves and pathetic "comebacks".
Half the ppl come here to get ppl hating on the external person that put them here. There are always two sides and if someone isn't accountable of their actions or behaviour, than they might as well stop whining.
Or they blame things on placements.
Or they create cliques of gossip bashing because someone hurt their feelings.
I'd rather be blunt or someone blunt without wasting time.
Posted by CuddleBug88It depends ....it needs to be objective. And also not from malice. It's got to be from someone with nothing to gain from it. But yeah..so long as no hard feelings from them after ..no hard feelings from me.

Posted by CuddleBug88Lol! That's ok. N I personally don't think it's anything to do with being easier or difficult.Posted by TeenaPosted by CuddleBug88Oh woah! No, I didn't intend that what I said means those who don't take it into consideration are indecent. Just meant that taking it with consideration may be an easier option.
I don't think anyone but yourself can tell you how you are, how to act, etc. I'm just talking about the possibility that someone has a tidbit of information that may or may not help you, and that you may or may not take and reflect upon.click to expand
Posted by BlindedByLoveBut think how MORE successful a person could be with a little introspection. Never know unless ya try right?Posted by CuddleBug88I have never been in the work on your weaknesses school of thought

Hard truth vs a sugarcoated truth.
Both are truth, at the end of the day.![]()
Whether I consider it, depends on the source.
Posted by MontgomeryMe? I like when someone tells me how it is but backs up their word. Explain it to me, discuss it with me, help me to understand where you are coming from so I can understamd why you'd say such a thing. I'm a big discusser, thinker, learner, etc. Talk to me, even about the "dumbest" things and I'll appreciate you.
You?
Do you want someone to give it to you straight,
no chaser?

Personally i feel introspection can protect me from the truth so I don't really reflect that much when it comes to myself or I would just make up convenient reasoning for the way I am and what I like at that moment. Done it many times before until I just felt it was getting in the way of meeting people.
