Is anyone going? I'm planning on it....just need to brainstorm costume ideas.
Ooo have fun!! Not going but it's a blast!
When I lived in Georgia, I was there every year.
Even marched in the parade one year.
Saturday night in the Mariott is a BLAST.
Try something Steampunk.
awesome Ive always wanted to go??_are you a guy or a girl?
Canceronthecusp: I've toyed with it but it seems like everyone does steampunk. I'm actually thinking something lunar and possibly borderline topless. Trust me, what's in my head is far from trashy! Think ultimate glam!
11th, I'm a gal.
Tizi, I thought of that but then I'd be a furry! That sort of spoiled it. :p

Don't:
Do anything Star Trek or any other major syndicated series (Including the revamped Galactica).
Exception is cult series like Firefly or Farscape
Do anime figures. They're all over the place.
Do Star Wars or Fifth Element. My friends and I had a little contest to tally the number of slave princess Leias and Leelus (Fifth Element) that we could see.
Do:
If you can work with latex, body paint, and blend it to look seamless (as a female), you can get a lot of pictures taken.
If you can put something in your getup that hints of something in popular culture but is slightly "off", it would work.
Lunar might work with pale (not white) paint with hints of color.
Man wish I new the name that Nene Tomas uses for these events. The girl does Cosplay- think its Amanda. Look up Nenes FB page she posts pictures of this girl in costume!! Amazing stuff maybe will give u ideas. The costumes are of Nene's fantasy artwork pieces.

Don't do a furry.
They're just wrong.

Don't skip the burlesque show. Its awesome.
Faye from cowboy bebop

I would go been dessert glam, you could even cut boob holes in your dress and paint your nipples red like Nomi from showgirls

No, the don'ts are far too obvious and over done, not to mention very ComicCon. I'm definitely going for obscure.

I've found a ton of cosplay that did an excellent job! Not sure which one is the one you're describing.

Even more fantastical than that. My brain is mulling on the ideas and they're gelling.
Never heard of it but conventions are usually pretty fun. Let us know what you decide to dress as!
MoonArtist who is going to be there?

This is the one I was looking for. My sister is at 1:44 (lava demon). No, I didn't go last year.

Wow that looks like a huge convention. Someone pick me up so I can go! Haha
But really, for just one year, those are a lot of creative costumes in one place. Looks really awesome. I wish they had bigger conventions around my hometown.
I want to go to one
Amanda K Cosplay is her facebook page. She does a lot of Nene Thomas's works, you can see the artists pictures in the background on some of these.

What some people do to make a costume sort of staggers the mind with the creativity, especially considering they aren't all in some sort of costume or special effects business. You two should go! Like seriously!
wow, I love those wings!
Ya.. she makes some amazing costumes, its mind blowing. I have yet to get to DragonCon, but have been to Gencon, so many people dress up!!
That she does! I'm impressed Big Grin
This is how you do cosplay!

Yes. I think burlesque is in the wee hours Saturday evening.
There is also the adult themed costume contest the same night.

Did you figure out what you going as MoonArtist?
Nope, but the idea/image is becoming more concrete in my head. I should probably sketch out some ideas.
