Holy cow, so we went out to dinner and bowling for my parent's birthdays last night, and I ordered a 22oz of Sculpin IPA since it was happy hour. It was a long and stressful day, so it went down pretty easy and I welcomed the edge that was removed when I finished it. Turns out, I had 3 of those in the span of 4 hours. Which, normally would be totally fine with, but not 22oz each! I am not cool with me drinking that much, and now I'm uneasy at at the thought of my doing so. I'm cool with 3 of the normal 16 oz size, that seems normal for me. I woke up this morning and could figure out why I felt so tired... then it dawned on me, I pretty much drank a six pack last night of Sculpin!

Luckily, I didn't make an idiot out of myself and we all had a blast, but I was pretty buzzed I suppose. I cannot believe that I drank that much! I'm besides myself right now, and think I'm going to hit the wagon for a few weeks. Not to mention, I normally have a glass of red wine each night, I will not be doing that either.

After reading your responses I feel a bit better. In my past I use to be like size zero, all of my friends were, we would all just drink and drink. I'd say this year we've all mellowed out, I've had my moments of being in a time machine though. I've learned to not drink too much when emotionally, you aren't in a good place, because all feelings that you've kept concealed will just pour out of your mouth. Fortunately, last night I was did not have diarrhea of emotions, but was just so happy and thankful that we were all having a good time together.

In all honesty, I guess I've just been feeling guilty about my drinking. Thinking that maybe I drink too often. I have a glass of wine 5 nights a week and 3 beers one night a week... so I guess last night just makes me uneasy, because I put away a 6 pack with such ease and didn't even realize it until this morning. I'm thankful that I wasn't an idiot. Ha

i knew a girl who woke up and drank beer instead of coffee.

Same.
And the girl I'm referring to swore this was the only effective way to alleviate a hangover--but that sounds like it would aggravate dehydration--which causes several of those unpleasant residual symptoms.

IMO absolutely no good can come of A.M. drinking, nor from drowning hangovers with more booze.

i totally agree. why not just take an alka seltzer

It merely delays it-- but for the moment, it works.

Hair of the dog and all that. 😛

Oh hush! You'll know you're in trouble when the clerks know your name at the liquor store! That's when it's time to take a breather & have a massive seat! lol

Besides, most people don't drink the exact same amount of alcohol each time they drink! Sometimes people drink 1 drink, other times they drink enough to get buzzed & other nights they feel the strong urge to get wasted! Most people have experienced all 3 at some point, even if just in their college days!

And sometimes the body process alcohol differently than it did the time before last. 1 night, 2 shots may do nothing for you. Other times, 2 shots will have you dancing on bar stools. Blame the bipolar body lol

Unless your drinking isn't causing turmoil in your personal, career, financial, family, health or love life, having a few drinks is just fine!
