DXPIL Season 4 Players Lounge

This is the new thread for the new season to BS and what not

The new DXPIL will work as follows:

SCHEDULE

Every team will play every other team in the league twice. For each match up you will get 3 questions. Every match up has a home team and an away team. The Home team can choose to answer 1 or 2 of the questions first before the away team answers. Each right answer is 1 goal. The team that scores the most goals out of those 3 questions wins. In the event of a tie the game will go into overtime where the home team will answer a new question. If that happens to go to a tie as well, there will be a double overtime where the away team will get to answer. This goes on until there is a winner.

Some other notable features this season…

I will attempt to post the weekly schedule to all the upcoming games for the next week every Friday or Saturday.

Each team gets 1 HOME game that they can postpone to play later in the season if needed. So if there is ever a home game on the schedule that does not work for your schedule where you do not think you will be able to answer please let me know at least more than 24 hours in advance. No games can be postponed in the final week ½ of the season.

NOTE: Home teams will have a longer period of time to answer their questions for a game. BUT If they do not answer on time the away team can answer first. IF EITHER TEAM MISSES THEIR PICK(S) ALTOGETHER, The opposite team will automatically get 1 goal at the start of that game.

There are no trades. Seasons pasts have had trades where if your team is doing poorly you can change teams after so many games. With the new format you cannot.

Other than teams that start this season with more than one player, if your team does not make the playoffs you cannot have more than 1 player on your team next season. After this season only teams that make the playoffs can afford more than 1 player to their teams except for teams that already have more than 1 this season.

***NOTE: The date of your scheduled games is the date that the questions will play out on. You will have to pick the answers a day or two before that date.

STANDINGS

The standings will have a different format this season. You will accumulate points for wins. Every win is worth 2 points. If a game goes into overtime and you lose you will still get 1 point while the winner gets 2 points.

The standings will show the following:

Win streak

If teams are tied in points the first tie breaker is the team with the highest win percentage. The 2nd tie breaker is most goals for. The 3rd tie breaker is the goal differential. If a 4th tie breaker is necessary it will be which team has less goals against. And finally if there is still somehow a tie at the end of the season whichever team has the longer win streak will break the tie.

PLAYOFFS

The Playoff format is also different than before. The top 7 out of the 13 teams will make the playoffs.

WILDCARD GAME

There will still be a Wildcard game. Now the #6 seed takes on the #7 seed.

1st Round:

#1 Seed and #2 Seed will have a first round bye and will not have to play as they automatically advance to the Semi Finals

#4 vs #5 in a best of 3 series

#3 vs -Wildcard winner- in a best of 3 series



SEMI FINALS:

#1 Seed will play the lowest seed that advances from the 1st Round in a Best of 5 series

#2 Seed will play the highest seed that advances from the 1st Round in a Best of 5 series

FINALS:

The Finals are also a best of 5 series.

It's like soccer with no draws!

If everyone or most teams play consistently it should be the best season yet

Its fair with everyone having the same amount of games

So the standings should be close and competative

You all can start to hate each other during the season having to play everyone twice

The only thing too hard to make on the schedule was that each team you play is a home game and an away game so some teams will play other teams away twice and some teams at home twice

That's cool either way, the Scottish Premiership does a format similar to that. Half way through the season the table splits into two and some teams end up playing each other 1-2 more times over the second half.

But either way I feel like this format can give a lot more anticipation building up before a matchup with a rival team. Not that I'm looking at taking down @Scruffles or anything... click to expand

Didn't even see it asked if we wanted to change... lol was my entire strategy to NOT be in season 3 finals and being forced another season on stingers. No one ever joins stingers and was hoping to get others to join sag moons. Just remove stingers and use sag moon instead? I'm only person in that team lol 😂 it gets loooonely.

Teams they play at home twice: Taurus Mars, Gemini Mercury, Aries Moon, Scorpio Venus

Teams they play away twice: Cancer Sun, Aqua Rising, Scorpio Mars, Scorpio Rising

Some notable things about the Schedule of the defending champions:

-Game 2 is a rematch of Season 3’s Semi Finals and then Game 4 is a rematch of the finals. Lucky for Scorpio Uranus both games are at home.

-They Play both Gemini Merc and Scorp Venus at home twice which helps, but they play some possibly difficult teams away twice as well

-They never play more than 2 away games in a row and they do have 3 home games in a row towards the end of the season that could give some momentum down the stretch.

-The last 5 games of the season are against franchises that have made the playoffs in at least 1 of the last 2 seasons so those could be clashes to close out the season.

Some notable things about the Schedule of the team that has made the finals 2 seasons in a row:

-They never get more than 2 home games in a row all season. They have very few away games in a row all year tho as well, but they do have 3 in a row between games 11-13 right in the middle of the season.

-They play 2 games against Libra sun in a 3 game span and both games are at the state of the art Libra Sun stadium.

-They also play Aqua rising twice in a 3 game span, but split games home and away. So between game 11 and 14 they play both Libra Sun and Aqua Rising twice which will be quite interesting.

-Gemini Mars ends the season with games against Scorpio Uranus & Gemini Mercury and the final game is AT Gem Merc so the end of the season standings could be a fight.

Some notable things about the Gem Merc Deception schedule:

-Playing the defending champions away for 2 games is not what anyone wants to see on their schedule, but they get 2 games at home against some possible good teams too.

-They will have 3 home games in a row in the middle of the season which will be a good point for them to gain or keep momentum that time of the season.

-They will have a Semi Final rematch against Scorpio Uranus in game 2.

-They close the season in an away game against Libra Sun. Will be interesting to see if that game has playoff possibilities.

Some notable things about the Obsessions schedule:

-Arkansassy has made the playoffs all of the first 3 seasons, but there are some hard aspects to their schedule this season. 2 Away games against Scorpio Uranus, Gemini Merc & Libra mars won’t be fun.

-They will have a nice home stretch with games 18-20 which could end up being very important. Especially as they will have a few parts in the season having 3 out of 4 games being away games including the last 4 games.

-Arkansassy plays Aqua Mars in weeks 3 and 20 which is the team he left high and dry last season, but at least both of those games are home games for Scorpio Venus.

-Ending the season AT Scorpio Uranus could be major if playoff standing possibilities are on the line.

Teams they play away twice: Scorpio Rising, Aries Moon, Libra Mars

Some notable things about the Creeds schedule:

-Clearly the eye sore of the schedule is that they start the season with 4 away games in a row which could be no fun.

-They will certainly make up for having 7 of their first 10 games being away come the middle of the season when they have 4 games in a row at home and will have a stretch where 6 out of 7 games will be at home.

-Scruffles first plays her former team and the franchise she won the championship with in game 10 so it will be a wait for that showdown, but they will also close out the season against Cancer Suns. They also have to wait till game 7 to get revenge for last season wildcard game against Scorpio Venus.

-Aqua rising closes out the season playing 3 out of 4 games at home so if Aqua rising starts the season out well with all of their away games, they could become a hugely successful team in the second half of the season with so many home games.

Some notable things about the Retributions schedule:

-Most of their schedule is very even. One game away, one game at home, two games away, two games at home etc.

-They do however have to play 3 away games in a row towards the end of the season which could be testy.

-Scorpio Mars plays aqua mars in back to back games in games 12 & 13 which will be fun. They also have two home games against Scorpio Uranus in a 4 game span.

-ellesbelles recently left Aries Moon Fire after 3 seasons leaving the fans sad. Ellesbelles returns early to play her former team in game 3. They then close out the season against each other as well which could be fireworks.

Some notable things about the Aries Moon Fire schedule:

-Aries Moon starts the season off with 4 games in a row at home which is big, BUT they HAVE to start the season off well and take advantage of those 4 home games in a row.

-If they do not take advantage of their first 4 games it could spell trouble. They follow up those games with 3 away games in a row. That is then followed up by a stretch in the middle of the season where 7 out of 10 games will be away games. So those first 4 games at home are way more important than they look.

-Having 2 away games against both Gemini Mars & Scorpio Uranus who were the 2 best teams in the league last season is also trouble for Aries Moon Fire.

-The old Aries Moon & Aqua Mars rivalry is reborn with new players come the middle of the season which could be fun

-3 of the last 5 games are home games and with their tough schedule could be the saving grace for the team.

-They will play Libra Mars twice in the span of 3 games which will be interesting.

Some notable things about the Taco Mars schedule:

-The journey for HippieGem to make the playoffs has been long and hard, but this could finally be the year. A big key to their success is going to be what they can do when they have 3 home games in a row towards the very end of the season.

-They play 4 teams at home twice, but the 4 teams they play away twice could be a killer.

-They Play Aqua Rising in two games in a row in games 12 & 13 and both games are AT Aqua Rising which will be hard.

-Taurus Mars ends the season against some tough teams so having a good early season will go a long way when it comes to the end stretch.

Some notable things about the Stingers schedule:

-Scorpio Rising probably has the most even schedule as far as home & away games in a row.

-Scorpio Rising gets their first chance at revenge from their season 2 knock out against Gemini Mars come game 5.

-They play Aqua Rising & Scorp Uranus twice at home which can come in handy, especially since they end the season against Scorp Uranus at home.

-3 of their last 5 games are at home which could be good news if they need some points come the end of the season.

Some notable things about the Aqua Mars Logic schedule:

-Early in the season they will have 3 games in a row that are away games.

-This will be more than made up as during the season they have a 3 home games in a row stretch and then later a 4 home games in a row stretch. They could have a lot of points made up there.

-They will however end the season having 3 out of 4 games as away games which could be a fight depending on the standings at that time.

-As far as rivalries go Aqua Mars fans want them to take down ex Logic Player Arkansassy come game 3. The Rivalry against Aries Moons gets renewed come game 11. Meanwhile Games 12 & 13 will be two in a row against Scorpio Mars.

Some notable things about the Libra Sun Vice schedule:

-Unfortunately for Libra Sun they will never have more than 2 home games in a row all season, but between games 3-9 they will have 5 out of 7 games at home to test out the biggest stadium in the DXPIL.

-Towards the end of the season they will hit a rough away stretch that they need to prepare for when 5 out of 6 games will be away games.

-Tiziani is still chomping at revenge for their Gemini Moon Magic getting swept in the season 1 finals by scruffles. Libra Sun Vince first plays aqua rising in game 3.

-They gets 2 home games against Gemini Mars in a 3 game span which could be a fun time right in the middle of the season.

Some notable things about the Snowballs schedule:

-The start of the season for libra mars starts with 4 out of 6 games being away games, but that is followed up with 4 out of 5 games being at home.

-In the middle of the season Libra mars will have 3 away games in a row, but towards the end of the season they get a chance to make up for it with 3 home games in a row.

-In the middle of the season Libra Mars will have 2 games against Cancer suns in a 4 game span.

-Libra Mars will face some tough foes at the very end of the season. Their schedule with a lot of home and away stretches in a row could be very entertaining

Teams they play away twice: Gemini Mercury, Taurus Mars

Some notable things about the Stingers schedule:

-Scorpio Rising probably has the most even schedule as far as home & away games in a row.
-Scorpio Rising gets their first chance at revenge from their season 2 knock out against Gemini Mars come game 5.
-They play Aqua Rising & Scorp Uranus twice at home which can come in handy, especially since they end the season against Scorp Uranus at home.
-3 of their last 5 games are at home which could be good news if they need some points come the end of the season.

Some notable things about the Taco Mars schedule:

-The journey for HippieGem to make the playoffs has been long and hard, but this could finally be the year. A big key to their success is going to be what they can do when they have 3 home games in a row towards the very end of the season.
-They play 4 teams at home twice, but the 4 teams they play away twice could be a killer.
-They Play Aqua Rising in two games in a row in games 12 & 13 and both games are AT Aqua Rising which will be hard.
-Taurus Mars ends the season against some tough teams so having a good early season will go a long way when it comes to the end stretch.

Some notable things about the Gem Merc Deception schedule:

-Playing the defending champions away for 2 games is not what anyone wants to see on their schedule, but they get 2 games at home against some possible good teams too.
-They will have 3 home games in a row in the middle of the season which will be a good point for them to gain or keep momentum that time of the season.
-They will have a Semi Final rematch against Scorpio Uranus in game 2.
-They close the season in an away game against Libra Sun. Will be interesting to see if that game has playoff possibilities.
