Fat shaming

Personally if someone called me fat now I don't care because I like being big but when I was younger I was always taller and bigger than the others so I always wanted to shrink in till I learnt that doing the opposite is better..

I remember how hard it was for me and my body image issues as a kid........perhaps the child needs to change and not societies view,...

There is always a health concern but we all die at the end,,,the fat bitch in the video could hopefully die tomorrow or there will be millions of fat ppl who will outlive her anyways....ppl should shut their fucking mouth because they know nothing
Omg ands you turned into a devil p-angel?
If you are fat, don't blame whataburger. I love whataburger! Blame mcdonalds,
Lol!

I didn't watch the video because I don't really care what she has to say. I live in the southern part of the United States, everyone's a little plump. Me included. I just ignore the opinions of people who have always been thin, because they're ignorant and don't know what the fuck they're talking about. Plus, they give the most awful advice on weight. As far as fat shaming, fatism is the only socially approved prejudice still left. Even on dxp it's considered acceptable.

**Kanye shrug**

I live in Alabama. If you bring a Coke Zero into my house I will show you the door.

I still make gravy for my biscuits with my bacon grease.
TBH by sharing the vid I only perpetuated get nonsense and made her more popular
I forgot youtubers can be trolls
I'm beyond bored with people who have such a constricted view of the world. It's been too long that people have perpetuated the myth that all fat people are fat because they're lazy pigs who don't control what they eat. The reality is far more complicated and varied. Some people are fat for those reasons, but not all. The same goes for skinny people who get accused of being anorexic and told to eat more. Not every bony person is starving themselves. Western medicine still hasn't addressed the link between emotions, stress and how these manifest in the physical body (other than to touch on how it could give a heart attack). I've seen how stress can make one person gain weight and another person lose it. The fat person might eat like a bird and the skinny person might eat like a horse. It doesn't fit the frame that Western society has placed on the stereotypes for fat vs. thin, etc.

As for shaming anyone, there's enough info about health risks for any and every thing that it won't work. People know damn well what the risks are. Some don't care, and some can't seem to make the problem stop. Shaming is just spewing negativity into the world, and what does it really help or solve? Nothing.

Who gives a shit? If people want to be unhealthy then so be it.. It's their issue, not yours.

But in my opinion it's very lazy. I know mothers who have had 3 kids and still managed to get back into shape. I don't see why there should be an excuse to lose weight and stay fit.. Some people are just lazy/unmotivated at times.

They have three kids. Have you thought that the mother may not be able to eat after feeding all three kids?!! Lol lol May not be enough money to go around to eat "goodies"!!!

That was an idiotic response.

Lololololololololololololo lololololololololololololo 😂 😂 😂

Some people do have legit medical conditions causing weight issues.

For the rest of us lazy and fat fuckers, its McDonalds fault.
When I was a freshman in university, I thought I was the fattest thing ever. I was 150lbs, 5'4". My roommates at the time were very into binging and purging. I got into it, too. Water fasts, diaretics, puking, ridiculous diets, ex lax like candy, we did it all. It was addicting. Lost a shitton of weight too. I think my parents figured something was up, because one day my Dad randomly drove up to campus (a six hour drive) and wanted to take me out for Mexican food. That same week, my brother casually mentioned how Mom used to be bulemic.

Anyway, I eventually moved back home and got out of that, but my metabolism was in the toilet. Gained 100lbs in a year (230), have spent the years since readjusting. I had tremendous body issues, until I went abroad for a year to a country where "hey, youre fat" is the same as "hey, your hair is brown". I got comfortable with knowing that my body was fat. Lost the shame I had for myself. I think losing that shame was a big part of helping me get things under control. I still have issues with my metabolism, but I have managed to maintain at around 180lbs now. I probably wont ever be 150 again, but health isnt always about the numbers on the scale. I do my best to eat right and stay active, consult with my doc if need be. I feel much happier now with myself than I ever was before.

Also, my fat granny lived to be 98 and was active up until she died. My skinny granny lived to be 80 and could barely walk. Not saying being overweight keeps you alive longer, just making an observation.

If you're going to McDonalds and eating a full meal, you've pretty much exhausted your calories for the day. If you decide to continue eating after that, that's your fault, not theirs.

What planet did you come from?

Ok, go eat 2000 calories of fucking Crisco everyday and let me know just how healthy you are after a year.

Why promote unhealthy life styles? If you're fat, it is a strong indication you lack self discipline, you lack social construct, emotionally biased, usually suffer from depression, an eating disorder, etc. There is a difference between being curvy (slightly overweight) and being fat. If you're fat, you're unhealthy, and by no means should someone promote your laziness.

It's getting rather pathetic the amount of defense and construct towards promoting an unhealthy image. The initial problem, back in the 80s/90s, was the strive for severely underweight people; which is horrifically disturbing and unhealthy. Now, they are promoting overweight. Go back to the 30s and you'll see more proper media attention to healthy body weights.

If you promote someone who is unhealthy, you clearly don't care for their physical and psychological health.

Here's the thing, more shaming hasn't solved the problem at all. No one is saying to promote an unhealthy lifestyle. In fact, most people know the rudiments of what a healthy lifestyle is. What's ironic is how many "ideal" body weight people there are who have terrible eating habits! They're just lucky enough that their body doesn't punish them or give a shit if they eat shit food, smoke, do drugs, live off of soda, etc. How much of the population ACTUALLY drinks enough water, gets enough sleep, avoids excess sugar, eats organic meat, fruits and vegetables, avoids refined grains and over processed foods, sticks to home cooked, whole grains, gets enough exercise, etc?? Yeah, that's what I thought. Tongue

Actually, scientific studies very much support that elderly who have more weight live longer than the skinny ones. It's because if they get sick they have reserves the body can draw on to keep them going while fighting the illness, and the skinny ones don't, so when they get sick, they go down FAST.

I'm so glad you got out of that unhealthy mindset! Love and accept yourself, and the rest doesn't matter.

GOOD GENES. smile

A lot of overweight people have food/sugar addictions that can be

arrested and managed like any other addiction-- but I guess they

either don't want to quit, or they find it hard to believe they can be

addicted to something that isn't 'contraband.'

The ignorance in this thread about our current obesity epidemic is staggering.

Congratulations DXPers. You're adding to the problem.

The BMI scale is flawed.

Being healthy and living active along with appropriate diet is good enough.

I'm 5'3" 136lbs but I weight lift, run, surf etc.

I'm all muscle but I'm overweight according to bmi and skinny compared to my friends.

Can't win so it doesn't matter

What matters if if I decide to start a family I'd like to be healthy enough to live an active life for them and my spouse.

Being outdoors and on adventures is a huge part of my life.

Wtf did this shaming bodies come into play?

Live and let live and tend to your damn self, right?

When it comes to those who are athletic or are very active and build muscle mass, the BMI scale is a wash.

It's still a useful tool in helping keep a range for the general population though.
