So yeah, do we have any folks here who enjoy foreign films?
Life Is Beautiful
Katyn
Dark Blue World
Winter In Wartime
In Darkness
Tae Guk GI
The Front Line
Talking about 'foreign films', well America IS foreign to me & I can't wait for Princess Diana's biopic. I forgot the its name but the trailer was interesting.
Apparently Dodi was her rebound guy, she was really in love with some Pakistani doctor & was trying to make him jealous by dating Dodi. I loved her so I'll definitely watch the movie when it opens here.
A handful of my favorites in no particular order:
Mediterraneo (Italian)
My Life as a Dog (Swedish)
L'Ami de Mon Ami (French)
Picnic at Hanging Rock and Galipoli (Australian)
Cinema Paradiso (Italian)
Le Retour de Martin Guerre (French)
Oops want to add:
Europa, Europa (German)
I also have watched too many foreign films to count a majority of them were Japanese and Chinese.
Katyn was good. I watched the Dragon Tattoo movies in the original Swedish. There's an Aussie film called "Tomorrow When the War Began" that I really liked. Japanese films can be quite amusing, and I'm not completely sure about movies necessarily but I've gotten into a handful of UK television shows.
Rust and Bone (De rouille et d'os, 2012)
Last year's most impressive movie imo. A rather un-romantic romance, it's violent, raw, beautiful and very "contemporary"... it has street-fighting and amputee sex in it. In other words, it has something for everyone, lol.

One that was hard to watch :: Irreversible with Monica Bellucci, anyone see that?

I liked that film by the end. Only because of the chemistry. Didn't expect to like it... I thought it would be too much of a gimmick.

I found the rape scene harsh... I almost walked out.

Overrated & sensationalistic piece of artsy-poo imo....
But I want to see the director's follow-up "Enter the Void", can't figure out why I haven't seen it yet. Oh that's right, it's 3 hrs long and probably just as "sensationalistic2 as the first one.
