Have you ever not paid tax??

I think Ive only ever did my tax return once when i was like 18??_..so thats like 10 years of my not filing tax returns??_.I'm scared that I'm gonna go to jail!!!
but at the same time I can't help but think that I could come into a lot of money??_.its a mosquito and electric light situation..

So are u guys all neat and tidy when it comes to tax? I can't imagine living in a world where i keep receipts 😭

Aquira I'm pretty sure everyone automatically gets tax deducted??_.but you have to file your tax returns so you can get money back.

If you make under a certain amount of money, then technically, you don't need to file.

But you should because you'll get money back most of the time.

And you only need to keep receipts if you're itemizing. 🙂

I didn't file for a few years. Here's what happens: once you DO file a tax return, the IRS will notice you haven't filed in a while. They'll do some calculations to determine what back taxes you owe (if any), and then send you a letter asking you to pay up. No one is going to show up at your house and cart you off to jail.

Oh, wait...are you in Australia? I don't know squat about Australian taxes!

it depends...its really not that serious tho unless you owe them. Which im sure if you did they would already be knocking at ya door. The longest I went was three years and when I finally filed i got back money for each year i didnt file plus the year that I finally filed. Also if you havent made much money in those years you will be fine.

if they question you just tell them you already paid the taxes. they have to go through all the paperwork of figuring it out
