Got a call from officer wanting me to go to the station cause he has some questions for me. I don't like it, I agreed but then I had to reschedule meeting cause I have a hearing on Thursday. Right now it's open, didn't set up meeting yet, finally he asked me do you want to still come over? Didn't like this question either and he didn't say what is this about.

I kept questioning what is this all about he won't tell me. Please help
Please someone answer if any of you been in this situation, not K owing what's going on drives me crazy.
If you see a black couch, get out ASAP.
I have to go I guess, I'm pretty sure I asked if he has a warrant, he didn't answer. Yes I'm an adult, no experience with law enforcements

It's very suspicious why he won't tell me what is this all about, I don't know what to do
Do u know a lawyer?...just tell that person you're going...if you feel uncomfortable at any time in terms of not being able to proceed...let's say u or someone u care about is at risk..tell the officer politely that you want to speak to your lawyer...you can even say "a lawyer"...if u don't know a lawyer... ...then tell 'em u cant afford one.

...It's likely nothing...otherwise u would have heard about it already..

...but no one can compel you to answer questions if you feel it might incriminate yourself... ...if you feel your safety would be at risk...lawyer up too.

...otherwise...u need to cooperate...simple as that...

...as long as u plan for the worst you can deal with the worst...good luck.
They traced the iTunes cards back to you. You done it now girl.

This doesn't make sense. At all.

A hearing means statements have been taken. It's a date to basically proceed. Meaning everyone involved is already in the system. Statements have been taken and the next order is to resolve... Eventually, depending on what the hearing is for.

Unless is like some ultra undercover stuff like the wire. Cop wouldn't call though cuz it can be traced.

Unless he wants a date.
So I left my phone upstairs charging, when I checked some time later I had 3 missed call from my county department, I call back and a girl answers telling me this is 911, I tell her got 3 missed call from the number ### he tells me to wait and then she transfers me to the officer who called me named G. And then the officer says thanks for calling back. What if I don't go? Will I be in trouble?

The station number is different from 911. Did you dial 911 or the station number?
Do cops have a power to just demand you meet them? Especially bot telling the heck is going on?

Never heard of 911 calling someone.

Usually it's people calling them.

If you seriously in trouble find a lawyer and or advice offline.

Yeah after I tell her got missed calls she tells me it's 911 and transfers me to the officer with the e certain name, she checked who called on my number
OOOOH. this is a good one. i've been watching law and order.

If the operative word is "want" as in want you to come to the station, then I would interpret that as your presence is not required.

If you really don't want to go, then I would tell them "Hey, I'm not going until you tell me what this is about."

I don't blame you, I hate being around people in uniform.

i gtg get ready for work. woohoo.

When you call 911 they answer by saying "911, what's your emergency". They don't have a 30 second conversation before telling you that you've reached 911.

Nothing makes sense for me either, automatic voice said if you want to report a crime dial that or if you want to speak to an officer dial that then I chose to speak to someone so the girl says after some time this is 911 and let me check who called you and I'll transfer you that's it

i still think you people need to think outside the box.

Yeah, that's right. I said it. You people.
OP, I'm going to assume that you live in a small town that has an after hours dispatch center instead of an operator at the police station.

My town has no police department but the adjacent one only has two officers so when you call their number, you get transferred to a dispatch center. It is the same operators as the county 911 system. The woman may have confused the line and answered wrong. That's not a big deal and no need to panic.

Why don't you want to speak to the police? Did you do something illegal? Do you have information regarding a crime? Personally, I would go and see what it's all about but know your rights and stay on guard. Stop talking and get out of there if the tone becomes accusatory.

If the officer calls again asking to want to meet or interview you, then ask him what his name last name and badge number. Then do some background info to see if he's legit. Also, make sure you ask the nature of this talk.

It could be as someone else mentioned, you are either suspect or witness to a crime. You have to be really careful with this. If they press for answers hoping to implicate you, ask for counsel immediately. There are a lot of sht detectives who wish to close cases quickly and will implicate anyone close to the case. This is dangerous as innocent people have been convicted of crimes. Even people who are accused, but not convicted, have to suffer the social stigma associated with the crime.

Be careful.

generally they won't discuss the matter over the phone for several reasons, for example they don't know who is calling, etc....

if the OP has done something bad, she'll have a hunch what it is about

if not it's probably nothing

worst case scenario is if someone filled a complaint against you, could be a neighbour or sthg.

Can be a very futile thing too.

Best thing to do is to go asap
just don't ask the officer if he is puerto rican or sthg
If this was anything major, they would've come to your door already.

I haven't done anything but some people are mad at me. Maybe they filed something who knows. Besides its cops job to make innocent guilty, they are trained to destroy your life

You're not guilty of anything. The worst you'll get is a warning. The officer is probably going out of their way before issuing the warning so he/she can get a better understanding of what is going on.

In other words, information was brought to them that is suspicious or problematic but not criminal. I'd advise you to meet and talk. Don't ignore it because the cop is actually doing you a favor.
