I've recently watched a video many people have likely already seen, but it opened up my mind in ways I can't even fully comprehend. I'll post the video, and if you haven't seen it I recommend it before reading any more of this post.
After watching this many times I've noticed how the gun is always taken away quickly in a red cloth, and everyone who fell victim to it is either dragged away or aggressive people rush in with clubs and and fury as a means take out whoever lived. It makes me realize that America holds the gun higher then those who lost their lives to one, which I don't want to be apart of anymore. I never had that mindset till this video. I can't believe I was so blind to the reality of it all. I don't want to hold my guns higher then an innocent life, and I know I will never take an innocent life myself but the symbol of death is still there. It still exists in my house and I'm starting to hate it. I honestly want nothing to do with guns anymore, and I understand the message of this video to the point its changing me deeply.

The most recent school shooting was a kid that didn't legally own any weapons. His father was more than qualified to own guns, and so he just took his father's weapons. There will always be ways to get something regardless of whether the /law/ allows you.

Walking around the streets at 3am alone as a woman and not expecting someone to jump you immediately, where as you can be taken in broad daylight here.
There is this idealism of America that we have never really reached.
I don’t know if we will ever reach the point where everyone will value each other’s lives over their own personal freedoms. So far I don’t see any hope. I don’t necessarily think of most people with guns as bad people nor do I necessarily think they should give them all up, but the serious lack of respect for children and adult lives being slaughter and apathy and “treetrunk you all” attitude is terrifying. Those people must literally have turned off their souls.

When is “shallow” ever not meant to be degrading?
In other news, you do know that archery is alive and well? I’ve even taught the Aries how to shoot a bow. She wants to start shooting competitive. She’s not quite ready but she’s getting there.

Since the beginning of time man has been carrying weapons for defense from predators. They’ve also carried those same weapons to hunt and provide for themselves. It’s been out of necessity.
Swords and Bows have killed more people than guns.
A gun or weapon is nothing more than a tool. It’s up to you to either look at it as a necessary tool or not. Only you can do this.
I don’t own an assault rifle. I have hunting rifles, shotguns and handguns. All have their purpose and specific uses.
Swords and bows have been around since the Bronze Age.
Guns only since the 1300s.
Your comparing 4000 years worth of use to 700yrs worth of use. Of course swords and bows have killed more people!

More Americans have been killed by guns (1.5mill) in the last 50 years than by all wars combined (1.2mill)

But they are not used for that purpose. People take up fencing or archery as a hobby.
Military and police force doesn’t use swords and bows to arm themselves with. Thugs aren’t out there popping arrows into that ass.
Why? Because guns are designed to be more efficient in killing at greater distance and higher speeds 🤷♀️

Who said it was a hobby? I hunt all the time. Hunting isn’t a hobby, it’s food on the table. Unless you’re an asshole and just sport shoot and don’t harvest the animal.

Most wealthy kids are jerks ...i've gone to school with a lot.
After watching this many times I've noticed how the gun is always taken away quickly in a red cloth, and everyone who fell victim to it is either dragged away or aggressive people rush in with clubs and and fury as a means take out whoever lived. It makes me realize that America holds the gun higher then those who lost their lives to one, which I don't want to be apart of anymore. I never had that mindset till this video. I can't believe I was so blind to the reality of it all. I don't want to hold my guns higher then an innocent life, and I know I will never take an innocent life myself but the symbol of death is still there. It still exists in my house and I'm starting to hate it. I honestly want nothing to do with guns anymore, and I understand the message of this video to the point its changing me deeply.
