Honestly, the rap/hip-hop industry is messed up to me. I don't like a lot of hip hop or rap because most of it isn't intelligent and it's all about "getting money, hoes, and disrespect towards women" etc. People like Drake, Juicy J....Totally not interested, makes me roll my eyes.

One of the few rappers I like is Eminem and Hopsin.

This is a song that Hopsin did below that has my sentiments exactly about the industry and how people are under a false illusion. They should really play this music in schools, because I feel it could reach out to some kids. He has already made a pretty big impact on some kids that went down the wrong path.

this one is also heart wrenching:

Right?! He really reached out to me. I knew from the start that drugs were bad, I never have and never will touch them...I want to be a cop! But I hate how so many people are "yo-yo-yo, money and hoes! Get them bitches!"

The last guy I dated didn't appreciate him. He said, "I don't like him. He isn't a real rapper because he doesn't get bitches, party all the time, and do drugs. Plus, he made fun of my favorite rappers! I love Drake and Lil Wayne" Um....wot? 0.o

There is a reason why EX is there. I showed this to my friend last night, I had him listen to the last one I posted "Nocturnal Rainbows" He doesn't like rap either really. He goes..."WOW. I'm buying his C.D..."

I believe the newest will be out in November.

It's more the lyrics and how he speaks his mind. Of course, he didn't actually do those things. He talks about real things and his real thoughts (like poetry, my poetry can be very dark but it doesn't mean I will go out and do all those things). Most of today's rap is just very generic, it sounds the same. I turn on the radio, and Eminem is the only one that sounds different to me. Eminem is actually a role model for Hopsin.

However, I do like Hopsin better. He actually enjoys being in the underground because he doesn't like all of the fame.

I find it ironic & ignorant that we like to single out Rap/Hip hop music but yet will go & watch a movie with violence or sex in it. Oh give me a F'ing break!

The music itself is not the danger. The people who are so small-minded that they allow music artists to determine how they live/think is the true danger!

Never, not once have I ever heard a degrading song about women & said, "I'm gonna go shake my azz today b/c Drake wrote a song about women doing that!"

Never in life have I ever felt like going out & robbing someone just b/c Juicy J perceived that as cool.

Never in life have I ever saw a violent movie & thought of blowing up buildings just like the actors in the movie did! Rappers are no different than actors. They are for entertainment purposes only! They don't claim to be role models so why do we keep employing them to be??!

No different than me never watching Jersey Shore & assuming after the season ends that "all Italians do OR should act that way."

So many people relate to Rap/Hip Hop NOT b/c they learn how to be from it. 99% of the time, they're listening b/c these are things they were ALREADY seeing & experiencing long before the song/music came out. They listen to it b/c they can relate

Hip hop/rap music did NOT invent the degration of women, violence, etc.

If we're gonna single out HIP hop/rap, then let's also single out the media as a whole, including other genres of music that don't necessarily promote education, & equality.

If we're gonna single out HIP hop, let's also single out country, rock & roll & other genres of music whose lyrics aren't necessarily the most Christian-life style -friendly either

Let's be honest & talk about the DEEPER issues going on

Hip Hop, just like the NEWS is just the "messenger." They spread the word about what was, is & will keep going on.

The bigger issue isn't the "messengers" or the people telling the world what's going on (sex, drugs, money, poverty, etc.) The bigger issue is that this stuff IS really happening and WOULD still be happening if the genre of Hip Hop was wiped out

Even if all the rappers on the earth died or stopped making music, guess what would still be going on? Poverty, drugs, degrading women, a high importance on money, etc.

hopsin is a cornball who's whole style is like the earlier version of eminem..it's no wonder the OP likes both of them so much..she another one of those "i hate hiphop, but i like eminem" type of fans..it doesn't surprise me thou, because it's a lot of'em..eminem is the highest selling rap artist because of it, which is a complete joke within itself, but i digress

so anyway, true fans of the culture that appreciate and/or grew up with it since the early stages know the real..hiphop was birthed from block parties,it didn't start off as policital, violent, misogynist, or drug dealing music..the true essence of it stemmed from having fun, dancing & just enjoying the music..only later on did all these different sub genre's of hiphop come into play, but at the end of the day, you gotta remember that its all just music & if people want to listen to drake & wayne, then thats fine, but it doesn't make you a better, more sincere, or conscious fan because you don't like them and like hopsin or any other mc like him instead..
