IQ?

Is it normal to have an IQ of 102? I feel like I'm dumb, or I've just been pretty down in the dumps lately. I want to do way better than this because my professor told me that's a bit low for college standards. I want to know what I can do to improve my average intelligence because at the moment I feel like an idiot. I have a lot on my plate at the moment.

No it was a formal one. I took it a week ago and got the results yesterday. Showed my professor and he said it was a bit lower than expected from most people my age.

Its not so much the score, but using it to the best of the ability that counts.

Well..... some were stupid and didn't make sense. But those that did, I wrote some of those when I wanted to know what people liked or I was just bored. But some of those that I did put intelligence and thought behind got misinterpreted and took it as an offense (like the time I said my Virgo ex got a sex change. I wasn't lying about that, that was for real, and it was a shocker cuz he/she looked familiar and they denied all info of their past). But I see what ya mean man.

this. Like Abraham Lincoln and many others who had deep insecurities and kept getting pushed down, and still were able to get up and do it again.

so many people who are super smart/intelligent feel that they don't have to work so hard, while the hardest workers are the back-breaking blue-collar workers who are the support and muscle of a country.

OP, 102 is fine. it's average, and i.q. is nothing if you're a mean son of a bitch.

The whole problem with IQ tests is that they test specific skills. It is not all encompassing.

I'd like a "real life shit" test to try my hand at. My scores fluctuate a lot in IQ tests and in EQ tests.

I wouldn't worry unless you were somewhere around 90.

You will not only develop vocabulary, you will immerse yourself in that world and will be able to draw parallels easier. Kick ass vivid imagination comes with the territory.

I wonder what his IQ is. 100 is average - 100 always reflects the average performance of the sample of test-takers, so at 102, you're perfectly normal.

If everyone scores what used to result in a score of 150, then gradually that becomes set to 100 to reflect the average level of performance.

So you're probably smarter than you think.

i haven't seen him do the "you're = your" mistake. Even my husband freaks out at that. The other day, we watch this show where this gal texts her bf and makes the mistake of you're = your that alot of people do, and the use of "an" over "a" ....first thing he said, "she made TWO mistakes!" then i added, yup. I saw that -- the you = you're. Ugh. Then he said, don't forget the a = an.

IQ tests are for people who like to see big numbers proving how great they are.

"Intelligence" doesn't mean anything. You have potential from being extremely good at one thing to being about average at absolutely everything, but there's no test to prove that, beside the test of life itself and what you do with what you have right now.

I have a IQ of 109. I felt pretty bad about it before, but really, it's just a number from a test, what value does it have in comparison to your whole life's achievements, efforts and challenges?
