Kundalini Yoga - Breath of Fire
There is no purpose, or if there is, we are doing it. It's like asking what is the purpose of karma when we could have just skipped the steps and gone from nothing to instant enlightment.
There is no evolving together either, not in your human form, it's a pipe dream made up by hippies. Altough on a higher level we are one, on earth we're divided into seperate egos because that's how the karmic journey is done. Unity = enlightment = Nirvana, and as long as you're reincarnated obviousely you ain't there yet. All the evils of the world are karmic debts and serve to maintain balance that lead to enlightment. I read that shit in some book so it's gotta be true

Sometimes I like to participate in a thought experiment... if we are all just the universe experiencing itself then we obviously must be the same person disguise with an ego. So I'll be driving around, looking at other people like they are myself wow, I must be having a bad day in that reincarnation.

It's the other way around... it's the Ego (the part of the mind that mediates between the conscious and the unconscious and is responsible for reality testing and a sense of personal identity) - who defines and is dressed (up) as the Person/Persona (the role we play - the mask we wear). Thus, your Ego is the one driving around looking at other... persons/personas - judging what it sees (externally) and imaging what it would be like - to be that person/a (wear that mask). Obviously, you can't really tell - what it's like be them - more realistically (as if having their Ego too - on the inside).
